Frank McHugh plays the same character in this film as he did in the original 1932 version titled Delirante (1932). The remake even used footage of McHugh from the first film to save on production expenses.

Regis Toomey played the same character in the 1932 film Delirante (1932) of which this is a remake.

Although posters and print ads for this film give Ann Sheridan top billing, the on-screen end credits have O'Brien's name listed first. When this was in production, O'Brien was a long established Warner star and Sheridan's status was that of an up-and- comer. Apparently, by the time it was released, the studio considered Sheridan the bigger draw.

Actor John Conte appeared in both this film and its original version, Delirante (1932). But his appearance in The Crowd Roars was purely by accident. Some of the stock footage from The Crowd Roars was used in this film, but when it was reinserted in The Crowd Roars, some of the original footage from this film was accidentally mixed in. That included all three radio announcers and some of the vehicles from the late 1930s. Conte appeared as an announcer in his first seven films, "Indianapolis Speedway" being the last. He would narrate his next film, then have more substantial character roles the rest of his career.

This production and another Warner's production Pneus em Fogo (1935) both have the same fictional 'SUNIONA' fuel truck in the same position relative to the pit wall and stalls of the subject competitive conveyances.
