The film was meant to be the first in a low-budget franchise starring Anna May Wong as a amateur detective who uses astrology to solve crimes.
The film is introduced by Manly P. Hall, a famous mystic, philosopher, and lecturer of the time, whose book "The Secret Teachings of All Ages" caused a minor sensation on its publication in 1928.
According to the AFI Catalog entry for this film, the plot of this picture is very similar to O Rastro Invisível (1933), also from Warner Bros., with forensics substituted for astrology. Margaret Lindsay was in both films.
The comic situations in this film are provided by a dumb cop and the coroner of the police.
