The Duke of Malmunster looks at Gainsborough's painting, The Blue Boy, and asks how much. Thomas replies, 1,500 pounds. The duke says he'll take it, and that he wanted it mostly because the color would fit in a place on one of his walls. Gainsborough's Blue Boy last sold in 1921 for $640,000. That would be $8 million in 2018.

Thomas Gainsborough's painting "The Blue Boy" was bought in 1921 by American railroad pioneer Henry Edwards Huntington. It is now on display in the Huntington Library of San Marino, California.

"Lux Radio Theater" broadcast a 60 minute radio adaptation of the movie on February 24, 1947 with Paulette Goddard reprising her film role.

One of over 700 Paramount Productions, filmed between 1929 and 1949, which were sold to MCA/Universal in 1958 for television distribution, and have been owned and controlled by Universal ever since. Its earliest documented telecast took place in Seattle Wednesday 15 October 1958 on KIRO (Channel 7); it first aired in Omaha Sunday 21 December 1958 on KETV (Channel 7), followed by Asheville 8 April 1959 on WLOS (Channel 13), by Chicago Saturday 27 June 1959 on WBBM (Channel 2), by Milwaukee 4 October 1959 on WITI (Channel 6), by Denver 18 November 1959 on KBTV (Channel 9), and by Detroit, where it was shown in 2 parts Monday-Tuesday 23-24 November 1959 on WJBK (Channel 2). It was released on DVD 4 August 2015 as part of the Universal Vault Series and has since enjoyed an airing or two on Turner Classic Movies.
