Continuity

When Charlotte and Deb are on deck and finish talking; Charlotte completely gets up from her chair. However in the next cut when Jerry and Frank approach them after a game of shuffleboard; Charlotte is still sitting down and then gets up.
When Charlotte gets up from the table to help Tina with the pay phone in the soda fountain her mink coat is on the back of her chair. When she returns to the table a few minutes later, the mink is gone, but it reappears a few seconds later when the camera moves from Tina back to her.
At one point when Charlotte and Jerry have a drink, the way she holds her drink and cigarette changes several times between shots.
The way Charlotte holds the tennis racket changes between shots.
The scene in which Charlotte and Jerry are passengers in a cab in the mountains, and he has difficulty communicating with the driver, she is wearing a striped jacket, then in the next frame when car rounds the bend her jacket is now off and she's struggling to put it on.

Factual errors

During the balcony scene while they are in Rio, Jerry says that the whole hotel has gone to bed and Charlotte states that it is disgracefully late. Jerry replies that it is not "by your Boston clocks. It's only a little before dinner in Boston." Rio de Janeiro is only two hours ahead of Boston. It would be late in the evening at Boston, not just before dinner.
When Charlotte and Jerry are looking at Sugarloaf Mountain from the ship's deck; Charlotte points out Copacabana Beach to the left. However, at the angle they are looking at Sugarloaf you cannot see Copacabana Beach which is about 2 miles away. Additionally, the beach nearest to Sugarloaf is a little beach called Vermelha.
When Charlotte meets Jerry at the train station the name reads, "BACK BAY." That is Back Bay with a period following it. However, the name of Boston Station is actually named, "BACK BAY STATION" and without a period. In fact, the names of stations are only spelled with a period if they are abbreviated.
When Jerry is making a phone call; you see the word Publico on the building side. However, the correct spelling of the word in Portuguese is a u with an accent thus Público.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

In the beginning of the movie, Charlotte's mother tells the doctor that she had three boys and then this girl. Later in the film, Charlotte asks her mother when the father was setting up a trust for the two boys, why he didn't provide a trust for her as well. It was common practice for wealthy families to not make trusts for their daughters, assuming they would either marry into another wealthy family or stay with their parents as caregivers (who then typically inherit a larger share). Mrs. Vale even makes clear that this was their plan for Charlotte in her answering questions.
After Charlotte's mother's death, she takes a train to Cascade. When she arrives, she says she has to take her car into town. Actually, it was common practice for wealthy people who spent long periods of the year in different places to keep cars in both locations. It would be a minor expense to have a local garage keep and maintain an additional car for the months she spent at the Cascades.

Revealing mistakes

When June and Lisa meet Charlotte after she steps off the ship; they tell Charlotte that they must get her through customs. However, since it was an international trip; Lisa and June would have to wait for Charlotte outside the customs area until she finishes going through Custom Control.
The Brasilian taxi driver after crashing his car starts speaking Spanish to Jerry and Charlotte instead of Portuguese.

Miscellaneous

The lunch scene portraying an east coast stop on her voyage from New York to Rio was actually shot on the west coast, at the Victor Hugo Inn (now Las Brisas) in Laguna Beach, California. Three years later, Bette Davis met an artist in Laguna, married him the next month and two years after, bought a beach house on the coast shown in the movie scene.

Crew or equipment visible

When Charlotte confronts Jerry in front of the fireplace about "The most conventional, pretentious, pious speech...", a crew member is visible in the mirror of the fireplace and quickly backs out of view.

Character error

Charlotte shows Dr. Jaquith a picture of a four funneled ship in her photo album and tells him that it is a P&O steamer. This is incorrect as no P&O liner with four funnels was ever built.
