Chiller Films' next original film, The Monkey's Paw, is making its way to the small screen on October 8th and IndieWire has premiered both the trailer and one-sheet.

Husk director Brett Simmons directed this take on W.W. Jacobs' classic tale.  

The film centers on Jake Tilton (Thomason), who acquires a mystical "monkey's paw" talisman that grants its possessor three wishes and finds his world upside down after his first two wishes result in his co-worker Tony Cobb (Lang) being resurrected from the dead. When Cobb pressures Jake into using hte final wish to reunite Cobb with his son, his intimidation quickly escalates intoo relentless murder -- forcing Jake to outwit his psychotic friend and save his remaining loved ones.

The Monkey's Paw is getting some theatrical play, too.  See if it's playing at a theater near you here.

Corbin Bleu, Tauvia Dawn, and Charles S. Dutton join Stephen Lang and C.J. Thomason to star in the Chiller network original movie The Monkey's Paw, adapted of the short story by W.W. Jacobs.  Chiller is the entertainment network devoted exclusively to the horror/thriller genre, currently available in about 40 million homes. While it may appear to the casual viewer that Prisco (Mr. Five books. Shah.) is owning my ass in this race, it simply isn't true. I've just been a febrile mess lately and couldn't be bothered to write anything about my reads. If anyone is currently keeping count, I am tearing through book four.

So there.

Prisco chose a sci-fi writer's self-help tome to be his first read. I pick a collection of old fashioned ghost stories edited by Edward Gorey. I'm sure this has deeper meaning.

Edward Gorey was one of those artists/famous people that I dreamed of one day meeting.
