When the Painted Stallion is fighting the black stallion, this scene is taken from The Devil Horse (1926). This battle between stallions has been edited into The Vanishing Legion (1931), Wild Horse Round-Up (1936), Montanha Tentadora (1936), Soberanos da Sela (1937), Cavalo Infernal (1932), O Fantasma do Oeste (1930), Dominador das Selvas (1934), and O Aliado Misterioso (1937). The black stallion is actually the famous Rex the Wonder Horse.
Rin Tin Tin Jr. is never called a German Shepard in this movie. Instead called a "Police dog". Probably because German Shepards' being used by police, was widely accepted by the general public at the time.
