Many people used to more My hero Academia-style storylines will find Fairy Gone's plot to be much more intricate than what they are used to. Its pacing is fast and it leaves a lot of blanks at first- it fills these in in extremely satisfying ways later. this is not a 'punch 'em up' anime-
This is an anime about war.
Its about how war affects people- its about politics, its about what people do when their side loses, how they choose their values, how they pursue their values. I did really enjoy the fighting sequences- its beautifully animated with incredible character designs, but the fighting is supposed to be storytelling, not just conflict resolution. Its unlike anything I've ever seen, and set a new standard for me in anime. Every character becomes incredibly complex (yes, even the at first weak main character) and all plot arcs resolve in the second season in a believable and impressively satisfying fashion.
Its so good I've watched both seasons twice since its come out. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but those who do prefer to put a little work into their show watching are in for a very, very rewarding experience.
Side note, I'm Christian, and deeply appreciated that the show had little to no objectionable content. It felt like they were able to make a dark and mature show, without trying to "force" it through arbitrary and often empty vulgarity the way so many shows do.

I hope we get another season so we can have more info on Marlia and her ability at the end.
Great for fantasy lovers.
Not the kind of fairies you are thinking of, more of a ghost like creature.
I would consider it a kinda dark fantasy not as dark as children of the whales but more adult oriented.

Don't waste you time on this crybaby show, is all about a morons feelings, who obvious is to weak to do what she end up doing.
Marlia cries atleast 5 times every episode and sound like a child.
The writer clearly don't know s*** about feelings/psykology, made pritty clear by the way he portrays the lead character, who is dumb, childish, weining all the time. NOT A HERO, JUST A CRYING LOOSER.
Don't make a show about feelings, when you don't know anything about it. Dumba**.
It's about a little girl in her 20s finding her model friend that's about 25 that fight about fairys with a ''badass'' veteran that's 28. Its a silly series, its action and plot is meh. Don't recommend.
Marlia whine's about almost everything in this series and she is way too obsessed about veronica, always running after her in every episode.
