EDITED: Enjoying this doc, but parts of it esp. In Episode 3 completely gloss over some key historical truths: 1) The US under the Kennedy administration attempted to assassinate Castro several times 2) Castro was leading a revolution against US imperialism 3) Cuba, when under US colonial power, was a playground for the rich ruling elite, at the expense of the Cuban people 4) The US has interfered in foreign elections, thwarting democracy, many times up to this present time 5) Castro was not leading during peace time but fighting for the very lives of the Cuban workers; when fighting a revolution and establishing a new revolutionary government, you can't just "hold elections;" because the working class has seized power and needs to hold on to that power. Otherwise, it will just become a colonial state again. . . . Also re: McGovern: McGovern had support because of his courageous anti-war stance, and that was different from any other candidates for primaries; the US violence against Vietnam escalated under Nixon, and was abominable; and I'm on episode 3 and have yet to see Kissinger, architect of dastardly US war crimes, mentioned. Also re: Mrs. Mitchell, I doubt most people thought being a "southern belle" was "cool" during the black revolution of the 1960's, which was crushed by US/ CIA. That was an odd description to add in this doc, although Martha Mitchell's courage and willingness to talk to the press was admirable and history has vindicated her suspicions.
Also I don't recall the Pentagon Papers being mentioned, which was the whole reason that the first Watergate break-in took place; to discredit Daniel Ellsberg.
