'Valentine in the Vineyard' is the third film in the 'Into the Vineyard' trilogy, after 'Autumn in the Vineyard' and 'Summer in the Vineyard'. It is also the first of the 2019 Countdown to Valentines Day films, a very short series of films this year, followed by 'The Story of Us' and 'Love Romance and Chocolate'. Of the other two 'Into the Vineyard' films, 'Autumn' is the best one and that was pretty good, while 'Summer' disappointed while still being watchable enough.
As far as the 'Into the Vineyard' films go, 'Valentine in the Vineyard' is in the middle. Better than 'Summer' but not as good as 'Autumn', with strong flashes of what was good about 'Autumn' but also with flashes of what disappointed about 'Summer'. Of the three 2019 Countdown to Valentine's Day films, it is second best after 'Love Romance and Chocolate'. 'Valentine in the Vineyard' is not great or flawless, but it's enjoyable enough if not too much is expected. It is my feeling though that one does have to see the previous two films beforehand to save any confusion.
Will agree that the indecision and constant flip flopping of decision making was a bit too much and annoying, which makes one frustrated by the characters and motivations at points. It also tries to do a little too much in the plot, on paper it does sound thin structurally but the double wedding and double engagement sees a good deal going on and it started feeling on the busy side.
It doesn't always flow in the dialogue and some of the sentiment could have been toned down. While Rachael Leigh Cook does fine, her character is a bit too neurotic this time.
However, there is a lot to like. Cook and Brendan Penny are still very engaging and bring a lot of charm and heart to their roles, never looking uncomfortable or bored. Their chemistry is sweet and never felt forced. The supporting cast are good as well. The characters could have had more dimension but they are not as one-dimensional as they are in 'Summer'. The direction is never hyperactive but also not pedestrian.
The vineyard setting is beautiful and made the most of, the scenery in general is beautiful and shot well. The music doesn't overbear or intrude, things that can happen in Hallmark films. The script isn't perfect, but it is sincere, has playful moments and doesn't take itself overly seriously. The story is warm-hearted and charming, if on the busy end of things, with some nice energy, and the ending is less predictable than most endings for Hallmark films.
Overall, decent end to the trilogy. 6/10.

Bonus points for texting bubbles that a viewer like me can actually read.!!!!
Frankiie is a little too neurotic. After a while it is more annoying than funny.
This miscommunications were funny at times and cliche at other times.
There were some funny lines. "Reign of terriers." That whole sequence brought out some lol's even though some of the puns were bad too.
There are multiple romantic relationships either going on or springing up.
I like Rachael Leigh Cook and Brandon Penny together.
The story is a little thin but I don't think it's intended to be anything complicated.
I have to admit there was an element of suspense for the ending. I really wasn't sure how it was going to go.

This was enjoyable and I love the vineyard setting. It was a bit irksome how they kept flip flopping on their decisions, though. And Frankie's dress at the end was terribly hideous!!! Way too matronly for her.

Still not as good as the first one. I found the whole double-engagement and double-wedding as well as the changing their minds back and forth very annoying. However, it was great to see a same-sex couple shown prominently in a Hallmark movie - maybe next time they will be featured as protagonists!

7.2 stars.
We are in the vineyard with our two favorite love birds. What new concoction of a plot will we have? There is a gorgeous blond in the picture now and she's dating his brother. She is great.
The leads have secrets from each other this time around. Unbeknownst to the other, they are actually improving themselves in order to be the best partner they can be for each other. They are now engaged, but must hide it because of his sibling announcing an engagement right before they have the chance. So this movie is all about the subterfuge and sneaking around back and forth, and people being suspicious of stuff and so on...
So the family all gets together and we are in wine country, so the story revolves around them getting together and having good times and falling more deeply in love as life continues. Will they marry, or will this just not work out? The parents put in their two cents...
A couple of people know all the secrets and try to help keep our leads on track and not going crazy trying to juggle lies and deceit and all that good stuff (it's all with good intentions).
Seems our couple is not so compatible as they thought...
It's ok, certainly not the best of this series of "vineyard" films.

While like any 'threequel' the plot here is a bit thinner, this remains a lot of fun, with some nice twists to keep you guessing right up until the end.
They should probably quit now while they're just about still ahead though.

I watched the trilogy and loved it! I must say that my favorite was the third movie, it had more funny moments💕 and the protagonists did great, there is great chemistry between Brendan and Rachael. Without a doubt, I would like to see more of the history of the DeLuca and Baldwin :)

If you have been watching the previous Vineyard movies, this makes great sense to you. If you have not been watching the series then you were left out in the cold. For those of us who have been watching, first off it was a good addition to the Vineyard series. If you have not watched previous movies then start checking your DVR every month to find them.
But I thought the usual characters did their usual great jobs. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the characters were still as good as the previous, and that the bantor was still quick witted and humorous.
Because the characters gelled so well together I am looking forward to the soon to be released "Babies in The Vinyard." The actress who played Shay was a welcome delight and a great add for Hallmark.

The plot was so boring and did not make any sense in most areas. I tried twice but cannot watch it more than 30 minutes. I am a big fan of Brendan Penny but all I can say is that he is wasting his talent. What a pity!

I wish there were more to the trilogy, Hallmark should at least give these two a mystery series together. Valentine is a great movie, just a notch below Autumn. I love the storylines, it's hard to get bored while watching even if it's predictable.
