If you liked "Taken" movies starring Liam Neeson then you might like this one. There have been movies this before among those are "The Man of Nowhere" , "Safe", "Commando", "Six bullets" , "Man on fire". In "Furie" Hai Phuong (Ngô Thanh Vân), is an ex-gangster who is estranged from her family after her father disowns her for having an affair with a gangster and getting involved with criminal activity. Now working as a debt collector, and barely supports her daughter or herself. As you have guessed her daughter then gets kidnap. Now she wouldn't stop at anything to get her daughter back. What makes this one different from others is that it is a martial arts movie with a female protagonist.

A mother with a checkered past is trying to start again. But when her daughter is kidnapped, she must turn back to that life in order to save her.

"I might be in the wrong place...but you took the wrong kid." This Vietnamese film has a lot going for it. I only recognized a couple of actors...plus the plot and story were meh at best. What I loved was he reason I bought the film...the fight scenes! Veronica Ngo shines as a mama bear you should not have messed with. It was basically "Taken" with better stunts. I am looking forward to seeing more Ngo action films very soon!

You sometimes do wonder: Why me? Is it Karma? Could the lead character here be having issues because of what she once was? Also does that not also help her solving those problems? Maybe, but having a kid taken away from you is quite harrowing to say the least.

The drama unfolds and everything is quite crazy, but nicely edited and told. Not a masterpiece but more than decent

This is the best martial arts film I've ever seen in Vietnam, wish the film will be successful all over the world.

I've become so tired of the Hollywood hype, the perfect American Dream always being pushed in American films. I've been watching a lot of foreign films lately and have to say that this was one of the really good ones. I absolutely enjoyed the action and the difficult livestyle depicted was much more relatable. Human trafficking is a huge problem and it's good to have movies that bring attention to the pure horror of it all. I will certainly be looking out for more Vietnamese films.
