After a small blip in their productions (Ghoul), Netflix India comes back stronger with a second brilliant offering of the year in Leila. I guess in a super charged nationalistic environment which India finds itself other, this series provides some cruel truths which was too hard to handle for the nationalists who seem bent on bringing this series down.

The show is based on a novel about a dystopian future where a woman is on the search for her daughter in an authoritarian regime. I will not give of anything of the plot but the story is engaging, the performances are captivating from everyone and the cinematography blends within this chilling new environment created by the show runners. And most importantly, it is absolutely binge worthy. Check out this great show and you will not be disappointed.

This show actually depicts kind of future this country is gonna have if we continue on our current path. And this show has received low ratings just because the majority can't handle the bitter truth that has been thrown into their face. Because people in India can relate to this kind of future maybe 50 years from now. The storyline is pretty good, actors have done justice to their characters. Huma Qureshi has always been a good actor. I'd recommend everyone to watch it. The low ratings are just from the haters.

Dystopia is new to Indian audience. And dystopian fiction was written for much less in the west. Art needs to keep check on politics when all else is failing. Visuals could have been better. But writing and acting are top notch. Must watch if you happen to possess a mind of your own.

The show was really good👍.. I have no idea why people are finding it so offensive. Watch the show and decide for yourself. If u consider "sacred games" 10, leila is 8.5...definitely worth a try
