Haley did not act like an adult who plans weddings. She acted like a spoiled, arrogant asshole teenager. She ruined the whole movie. I frowned through the whole thing, hoping it would get better.

This is a wedding planner movie where she has too little time for the wedding her sister always dreamed of. The leads were friends as children on her family's tree farm where the three of them (including her sister) made wishes on a wish tree. The sister's wish was to get married at the farm. I bet you can't bet what one of the other wishes was. The male lead Carter later bought the farm - no I mean he purchased it.
The plot follows most of the usual themes including the totally cliché misunderstanding based on what one of them saw from afar. Actually there is not much of a plot besides the wedding. Haley, the planner quickly finds out too many things aren't available on short notice and that consumes most of the story. Since that leaves the story a little thin, Haley's boss has to threaten her periodically because the boss has agreed to another short notice wedding. Trouble is, that thread totally fizzles just as you'd expect.
A movie with a simple plot needs something to hook the audience. Often, that's the relationship between the leads. Just one problem. Haley proceeds to insult every possible vendor she can find, implying in effect that their hick town standards aren't up to her requirements. (Shouldn't "the best wedding planner in LA" know something about tact?) She even disrespects Carter at first. She's annoying. For some reason, it seems to be a requirement in these movies that the leads start out badly in the beginning and then all the disagreements disappear. This is where Cristine Prosperi and Colton Little should have had chemistry. And they had a little, but it wasn't great.
Many reviewers have heavily criticized the acting. The actor playing the sister was pretty good. I don't completely agree that the others were terrible. Most of them were fair, and none of them distracted me with acting. I've seen a lot of movies where the acting is distracting.

Premise is fun ... but hiring people who can actually act should be high on the list. Most of the people in this movie seened to be reciting their lines - and are totally unbelievable. The woman playing Haley is horrible - and her character is very immature-and we're supposed to believe she's the best wedding planner to the stars? Um --- absolutely not. Does she not understand it's a small town AND it's a last minute Christmas Eve wedding? SHEESH. Ion - stick with your reruns --- they are far more enjoyable.

The plot and storyline are a great idea especially for a romantic drama. But, there are some serious problems. The main character is very much miscast; Prosperi seems more high school than a successful wedding planner and her intermittent giggling is foolish; she is not a believable character at all. And her character's snide remarks, dismissive attitude, and condescending dialogue is a definite minus for this movie. The setting consistency is off; the weather is supposed to be in the teens with a huge "snow storm" coming but the scenery looks like late spring in southern Cali complete with green trees, birds chirping, and pink flower blooms (bad directing). Just thoroughly not enjoyable and I quickly lost interest even though I watched the whole thing with a lemon face.

Just didn't think there was believable chemistry between the main characters. A lot of reviewers didn't like the main actress... but to be fair her character was written to be somewhat unlikable. Overall I still enjoyed it. I wished I lived on a Christmas tree farm lol. Looked beautiful.

This character is so petty you don't feel any empathy for her. She's annoying, arrogant and during the entire movie I was hoping another lead female character would step in and kick her out of town. I'm not sure who wrote her but she's not likeable.
Then there's the lead character who is so nice but we have no idea why he is in love with this woman who is everything he left the big city for.
Haley's boyfriend is just a cliche of a character. And so is Vivica Fox's character...total cliches and boring characters.
And how the heck does a person die by "running out of gas"?
What an annoying movie. Not really worth a second watch.

This movie had a lot wrong with it.
Probably the most glaring problem was that the Christine Prosperi's acting + a sub-par script. I haven't seen any of Christine's other work but for _this_ movie she wasn't able to carry the role. The worst actor in the movie shouldn't be the lead. I broke out laughing at her "fake typing" skills. I can understand someone faking an instrument that they don't know but the fake typing was bad. The movie cuts corners in a lot of ways. You'd just have to watch to see...or just skip it.

We enjoyed the movie, not a Christmas classic. Fun little plot, the characters were developed enough so you cared about them. Sure it's a predictable formulaic Christmas movie. A little silly the storm was coming in and the temperatures were predicted to be in the 20's and the wedding was outside and it looked like it was 65 or 70. Over all you'll enjoy it.

Is this not the 21st century? As for the movie as a whole, there really wasn't one likeable character (well maybe the leads sister & her future husband). The lead character (Ali) was unlikeable throughout the movie, the others were just boring. Why do TPTB continue to make this c*ap?

...make fun of.
I had the unfortunate pleasure of catching glimpse of this movie while working at home. My wife loves sappy x-mas movies. The plot is very predictable but it isn't the reason for the 2-stars. It is the horrible dialog writing and cringe-worthy acting by EVERYONE.
If you want noise to fill the room while making dinner, then by all means and play this. But do not make this a movie/date night kind of movie, you will hate yourself afterward.

The only problem with this movie is the over-the-top snobby behavior of the lead actress, which is the writers fault. It isn't believable that someone of her "caliber" would behave that way with potential vendors. It does not endear you to her, which makes the rest of the movie less enjoyable. I would have shut if off in the very beginning but kept it on for background noise as I did other work. Don't recommend if you are wanting a true, heartfelt Christmas movie.

Ive watched alot of these Hallmark, Lifetime, UPN Christmas movies, some really cute, some really bad. But I had to comment on this one. I wanted to throw the remote at my tv. The main character (another wedding planner) travels from big city to childhood town & proceeds to badly insult everyone there ! The word I'm looking for rhymes with witch. When sampling food for a wedding, the people barely swallow one bite & then the Chef takes away the Full plate of food at least 3 times. Why serve up so much food if theyre not gonna eat any of it ? Her car wont start so he fixes it by replacing a hose ?? Whaaat ? Because having it be the battery was too difficult ?? And that wasnt all. I HATED this movie more than any of the others.

The main character of Haley was not believable as the best wedding planner in Los Angeles. Or the world (which I think was mentioned)...
The character was more like a self-absorbed immature high school brat. Despite this, the character of Carter was not phased by this horrible young woman and fell for her all over again.
The actess dragged the movie down. If they had used someone more believable, maybe a few years older, the movie would've been better. Christmas movies are generally just a feel good movie, but this wasn't good at all. I did however watch it to the end. A waste of 90 odd minutes.

Oh my goodness... I am being generous with the three star review purely because I'm doing it for the Christmas spirit!
One of the worst Christmas movies I've ever seen. Hayley and her "acting"... it truly is shockingly bad. Very boring and unlikable character not very professional as a wedding planner at Christmas time!
" still so much work to do" how many times can you use this in one movie? I lost count, absolutely ridiculous, so predictable and so repetitive.
I don't mind a bit of cheesy romance and some movies are predictable, but cute. This I feel was a waste of time.
I would advise to stick to the classic Christmas movies in future!!!

Love the movie, very warm heartfelt movie...Brought back old memories of the Christmas Tree Farm looking for a perfect tree! Carter was charming and very patient with the snippy girl! Very much enjoyed the movie!

It's ok to have the movie play in the background while doing other things. The story was below average. The leading guy was ok, but the leading lady could use several acting classes. She seemed somewhat fake to me; I was like watching an instagram person, not a real one.

Really? Ice diving in the Netherlands? The scriptwriter will probably also think that Amsterdam is a country and its capital is Holland.
The story rattles anyway on all sides which also is very poorly portrayed by the actors.

It was difficult to see this as a feelgood film. For the longest time the leading lady Haley's behavior was very stuck up, unsympathetic and rude. The leading man was also frowny and kept making snide remarks. Neither were very endearing, and both for no real reason.
The boss also was unreasonable even for this type a movie. So was the sister too actually, demanding a tree farm wedding in a fortnight, out of the blue. However, it didn't make sense that the supposed "Wedding planner of the year" was so unable to organize anything - everyone else basically shoved the solutions on her lap.
The plot and dialogue were dull, and everyone was overacting and mouth-twisting. (And a small detail, but why film Haley typing, when it looked so ridiculously fake?)
There was a generally cheap feel - everything from church to pawn shop to diner seemed to be set up at the same dentists' office. And the fancy dessert looked terrible. At the same time, the foodie in me was irritated that they wasted so much food at the wedding meal tasting.
I ended up giving this 2 stars as there are even worse ones - this wasn't e.g. Offensive - but this film really didn't have a lot going for it.

The two stars are fir the story itself. With better production and an actress who can actually act, this would be a better than average Christmas movie. The leading man was very good, as was The lovely Ms Fox, but the lead was terrible and the rest were so-so.
Worst of all, despite being a Christmas theme, there was one Christmas event and horrible decorations. Dollar Store red tinsel garland. Mediocre wreaths.
Not to mention the weather. Expecting a snow storm, yet everyone was dressed for early Fall. A Christmas wedding with the maid of honor in a beige dress with a pink shrug that didn't match.
Please have Hallmark take this script and remake this movie.

One of the best Christmas Romantic film I have seen...the best part about the film is that it makes you part of the story, it makes audience to get engaged with the characters, it makes you feel inside it...you start feeling like this is how life should be simple fun loving with beautiful hearted people around us....it's a must watch movie
