The film's title, which means "The Flower" in English, refers to its unique structure. The first four stories have a beginning but no end. The fifth story has a beginning and an end, and the final story has an end but no beginning. The director explains this in the film's prologue by sketching a diagram with curved lines and arrows, the shape of which resembles a flower, and which is also used on the film's artwork.
The film's unusual structure came about because the director wanted to experiment with new ways of working in fiction. Many of his fellow filmmakers wanted to try new things in that area too, but he didn't agree with their approach of blending fiction with documentary. This was his approach.

The six segments were shot consecutively, with one segments being finished before shooting began on the next. Editing took place much later.
