what really makes 'Luka Chuppi' an entertaining watch is the nuanced writing by Rohan Ghoge and its execution. The first half is swift and packed with funny moments that end in an unpredictable twist. The second half too, is marked by quite a few laugh-out-loud moments. At some point, the humour becomes repetitive, but it's the short run-time that comes to the film's rescue. Film's two most popular songs (Coca-Cola & Poster) are thrown in at the end, during the credit roll.

Overall, 'Luka Chuppi' is a fun ride that never gets too preachy or uncomfortable for the family audience. It's a clean entertainer with a message that's not too loud, but clear, for sure.

A complete fun filled entertainer. The comedy is on point. Even though there are a lot of scenes which are common in these types of movies this one stands unique since it has a message. The first half is inspired by PYAAR PREMA KAADHAL, but they have improvised it and made it much better, the cliché ending could have been changed. The direction and screenplay is ok. Nothing special. The songs in the movie are worth mentioning,it set the mood right throughout the movie. The cast is wonderful. Every role done perfectly. The basic story aint new, but the added comedy and fun makes it special. Overall a good movie

Great little Bollywood rom-com when you want to watch something easy and light-hearted.

Pankaj Tripathi is so perfect in this role. Kriti Sanon and Karthik Aaryan give good performances and look like a good on-screen pair.

Director Laxman Utekar gets a lot of things right in Luka Chuppi (Hide and Seek), a comedy drama that only gets better as you consume the narrative of a young couple as they try out the infamous life-in lifestyle for a few weeks before deciding to exchange vows. The conflict in the film, which is set in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, strikes a severe resemblance with real-life happenings in the state and elsewhere in India where live-in relationships are considered against the Hindu nationalist culture, Muslims are not shook hands with because they do not support the construction of Ram Mandir, and romance is generally seen as a sin. I enjoyed watching the narrative where writer Rohan Shankar referenced these real-life issues all too often to make the slightly exaggerated plot interesting. Of course, there are a few unrealistic threads sewn into this drama, but for a film that promises to keep you entertained with abundant humor, Luka Chuppi scores big. Everyone in the cast, notably Kriti Sanon, Karthik Aryan, and Pankaj Tripathi, do a wonderful job and bring out the best in the good writing that has gone into making this film. I sincerely recommend Luka Chuppi as a cool afternoon watch. TN.

The movie is only about one topic, living relationship. Great Chemistry between kartik and kriti.

This movie make you sit first to last with a laugh-ting riot and situational humor. The concept that is 'live-in relationship' is very relatable to new generation. This film does not show live-in but it shows how a boy and girl wants to get this type of relation,than they have lots of problem. Basically it is not very common in india. Family does not accept this type of relationships, than how couple face this problem and the film shows it situation wise very humorously. Execution was good and the acting is very commendable. Cinematography was too good. The film actually very entertaining. So very worth watching movie to get humongous entertainment.

The story is something that would not be a cup of tea for a person with reserved beliefs like me.

Despite that, the movie gains an extra point for a never seen avatar of Pankaj Tripathi, grooms elder brother and the comic sequences weaved as the story progresses.

The movie starts with a statement from a superstar that he is living in a live-in relationship, the opposition of which is then taken up by right-wing political parties as their election motto, and this same topic pops up in almost every second conversation in the film, no matter what the original dialogue is about. This makes the whole movie feel like a heavily scripted low class drama. The only thing that's keeping it afloat is a good performance by the actress. Karthik Aryan, on the other hand, fails to impress with his sad, always dejected but suddenly excited character, as he did with his previous films. What really sinks this film for me, however, is the forced humor spread throughout the movie which might appeal to the mass audience but actually has very little weight in terms of real comedy. All in all, a film to skip, in my opinion. It's only two hours, but feels like much more, especially when you are sitting in there wondering what people around you are laughing and cheering about.

With a loaded casting and very good story base, the film seems to be slipping everynow and then. But definitely a one time watch for comedy scenes. This film has everything but a gripping storyline. Many scenes appear to be too much happening and thus sometimes becomes irritating.

Comedy could have been limited and focus more on the solid storyline.

I restrict my Bollywood viewing to movies from 1955 to 1975 on the Youtube. About the only post 1980 moview that was watchable (and it was very good) was Hum Aap Kay Hai Kaun. But what do you do when you are trapped in an aircraft seat for five hours and can't access the Internet? So flying Singapore Air from Shanghai to Singapore on my way back to home in Australia I chose Luka Chupi. It is an alright movie for "time-pass" (using an Indianism). It hadd its really funny moments.

Movie is senseless. It's one time watch but not for everyone.

A small-town couple secretly starts on a live-in relationship, but their families take them to be married. So the couple tries ways to get married, each ending in a fiasco. Devoid of formulaic gimmicks, item songs, or dream sequences in the foreign locations, it manages to build its simplistic story with wit. Filmed in a small town of Gwalior, the film carries a same charm the film-makers have resorted in filming the Indian town alleys like "Badhaai Ho." Despite the implausibilities and its slight story-line, the film turns funny and worth admiring for the on screen chemistry between Kartik Aaryan and Kirti Shanon or the stupendous comedy from Pankaj Tripathi. Overall, the film is a likeable addition to the romantic comedy genre of Indian movies.

It's a different kind of movie. Comedy scenes are quite good. It contains some message, and those were conveyed properly.

A situational comedy based on a proper story. Concept of live-in relationship been told thru comedy with lots of humour. The role of three leading characters are played by Kartik, Kriti and Aparshakti are just amazing. The on-screen pairing of Kartik-Kriti is very much refreshing and their chemistry is the most engaging element of the movie. The others actors in supporting role also have done quite praising job but sometimes there was a overdose of cant and chaos is presented in a few scenes. There must be a special mention for Pankaj Tripathi and his skill. The music is also very much laudable. If one like the situational comedy this the movie should watch out.

Be warned ! Don't have high expectation from this type of film. This is a normal family drama with very much Predictable plot that you will feel why it is happening like this when it can be sorted in numerous ways (if u were in the shoes of guddu also) this was the first film of Kartik that i didn't able to enjoy only Pankaj Tripathi performance was good. At one pointy of the film you will feel why they are stretching this short story to a long version. OkaY I understand that the theme of the film is somewhat Unique not like a typical bollywood movie but it can be presented in a very Beautiful way also which Director failed to execute. Many times we the MOVIEGOERS watch a film that have a good story line and good execution if this both thing is not equally maintain then we get upset. And in the case of Lukka Chuppi neither of them was executed well. May this film was not my cup of tea and maybe i was too harsh but HONESTLY it was the true words from my perspective ....

Luka chupi is a full entertainment love story. Storyline is not impressive but humor and characters in the film make this one a must watch.

First half is okay but 2nd half turn things around in the film which makes it a worth watch. And also it's totally worth your money. So go for it! Kartik Aaryan's comic timing is effortless and Krit Sanon sucked a bit in the first half though she has done a great job in the second half! Most important thing is don't overthink about the movie and just enjoy.
