Don't believe the extreme negative reviews. This is actually an entertaining and funny film. The acting and script are surprisingly good. You need to watch it in Italian with English subtitles. The Italian to English translation is wonderful and conveys the humor very well. It made me laugh out loud multiple times, and is a great lighthearted way to spend a holiday afternoon. I do enjoy Italian cinema, and some of the actors were familiar to me. The humor is reminiscent of "weekend at Bernie's". I really do not understand the multiple negative reviews giving one star rating - it is far from boring!
It's like a theater piece, maybe actually it is, and it's trying to be something like 'His Girl Friday'. But it's not even remotely comparable. On the other hand, it doesn't deserve 1 star rating, like in some other reviews. It has it's moments. But only moments.
Knowing most of the actors and having recently read a review I decided to give it a look.
Well, apart Massimo Ghini , Ricky Memphis and the beautiful MarTina Stella, the movie is a total disaster. Bad acting, poor dialogues, and the worst screenplay. I wonder how people think about doing this kind of movies ! complete nonsense.
The 2 stars are for Stella acting in 2 pieces :)
This is as much a Christmas movie as Die Hard is. Do you know the difference?
If you take the movie events out of a Christmas context, will the movie still "work"? If the answer is yes, then it's not a Christmas movie.
12 minutes into the movie I was checking my phone. 23 minutes into the movie I thought about turning it off. 75 minutes into the movie I've given up on it being good and started writing this review.
This movie is funny to some degree but it's "plot" and comedy seem better suited to a stage, maybe vaudeville. Why? Because 75% of the movie occurs in one hotel room or another. It's slapstick irreverent comedy that's just not all that funny. The reason it might get any views at all is because it's listed as a Christmas movie and it just isn't - there's nothing central to the movie that requires it to be Christmas time.
It's meant to be funny and I suppose on some level it is but I find it difficult to laugh about a movie when it's two primary characters (a PM and opposing party member from Italy) are trying to engage in an affair while in Budapest for political meetings.
As much as I like beautiful women, the blonde lead was parading around in a bra and panties in a hotel room for about 15 minutes early in the film, as beautiful as she was, her state of undress was not pivotal to the plot either. Later, a sandy blonde woman was in a nightie then yet another woman with a pixie cut was in a nightie. It's meant to add to the humor but it just doesn't.
This movie felt like a cross between the old school European soft pron movies on late night Cinemax and a three stooges movie. It did neither particularly well.
Skip it. Skip it. Skip it.

The old fashioned plot involves a couple of married Italian politicians, Giulia and Franco, who plan to betray their respective spouses during a "working weekend" in Budapest.
Two thirds of the story take place in the suite of a 5 stars hotel, which is a clear sign of a movie made on the cheap side. The plot includes stale cliches, such as hiding in the wardrobe and jealous husbands barging in.
Martina Stella (Giulia), a curvaceous fake blonde, her mane flowing, plays her part tottering around in black lingerie and high heels, in the worst Italian tradition of sexy comedies. Ghini (Franco), used to be a sexy boy, but in the movie looks grizzled and old enough to be her father.
It is hard to believe this is a movie made in 2018, as the occasional references to the current political situation remind us. The three women in the story are all fake blondes, who spend most of their on-screen time half naked; the men are stereotype Italians: sleazy, cheating liars, mama boys and petty criminals.
For a comedy, do not expect much laughters, because all this has been done much better and many times before.
