I stumbled upon the short drama "Ponyboi" here in 2022 without ever having heard about it. However, I stopped and paid it heed as I saw that it had Keith Allan on the cast list. And that made me opt to sit down and watch what writer River Gallo had to offer with this 2019 short drama.

Color me impressed. Sure, while the run time is only 19 minutes then it is somewhat limited what you can manage to cram into a movie and put on the screen. But writer River Gallo actually managed to put together a good storyline for the drama. And that script was brought to the screen nicely by River Gallo and Sadé Clacken Joseph.

I enjoyed the storyline, because it actually was well-written and sort of managed to tell a good story, despite of it being in a limited time frame. Thumbs up to writer River Gallo for this accomplishment.

Not only did River Gallo write and director this 2019 short drama, but also starred in it, and put on a rather good and impactful performance. I was pretty amazed with the performance from River Gallo, and I was thrilled to see Keith Allan in the movie as well.

If you enjoy short dramas with a good story, then "Ponyboi" is definitely well worth checking out. I was genuinely entertained by "Ponyboi", despite of the short run time. And I would love to see a longer feature movie with these characters.

My rating of "Ponyboi" lands on a seven out of ten stars.

Very thought provoking and sheds light on non-binary people or intersexual as they are called in this film, such fine acting and a job well done for cast and crew, we need more of these types of films especially with all the boycotting of gay friendly corporations and the right wing mass hysteria over gays and transgender, the more light we shine, the better for all of us..will be looking for more work from River Gallo, I gave this film ten stars because it was very good and entertaining, also would recommend films, Mario and the cinema classic, Weekend, as well as Keep the Light On, those are just some of my favorite gay films..

The temptation to define it as provocative is far to be reduced. But , in essence, it is only a simple story smart told. Same familiar themes , from romantic dreams to survive being different, same shadow of abuse and the answer to propositions, same refuge, against bitter reality, in an idylic univers.

But the real good point is the acting, River Gallo offering a beautiful portrait of main character . And the end is just admirable.

A film about naked reality, more than story of intersexual runaway or a cowboy - and his car - as pieces of Prince Charming story.

And a good lesson about assume of life.

In short, just interesting.
