I consider watching a show or even a movie akin to having something to eat, on some days you like something fancy and exotic, while on other days you can do with even a vada pao. Similar is the task of watching a fiction show or movie or even reading a book. Sometimes you like something intellectual and challenging, while just the next moment you want something light and easy to understand.
So a few days ago when someone recommended a Pakistani show to me I thought it would be as bad as the Indian shows of today and was in no mood.
But then I saw a few minutes of episode 1 and something connected with me and hooked me (maybe the fact that it is a P G Wodehousian world had something to do with it).
Today, almost 30 episodes later I'm sorry that the show has ended.
The story is very simple - A guy and a girl (1st cousins staying in the same home) are about to get married but they kind of hate each other. So to break the impending marriage they create doubts, suspicions and hatred amongst their parents so that the parents themselves break off the marriage. And they do achieve this, unfortunately by now they have fallen in love and want to get married but the parents hate each other and there is no way that marriage is going to happen. Adding to the confusion is number of colorful, comic characters that make the show come alive. The result is engaging and hilarious. Highly recommended for the unique story, punjabi dialogues, and madcap characters. I'm sure people on both sides of the border will love this.

As an Indian I crave for wholesome family entertainment that I can watch with elders & younger one's in the family without any awkwardness & embarrassment. Unfortunately lot of Indian tv shows, serials & reality shows have become vulgar & unwatchable with the family.
Seeing this dillema someone advised me to Pakistani tv serials & what a revelation it has been. Pakistani tv serials are out of this world. First & foremost Pakistani tv serials dont drag for years, they have a beginning & an end. Their is no over the top melodrama & overacting & thank goodness the characters are not dressed as if they are going to a wedding. The theme, story has so much flavour and expermintation that you watcg something new in each serial.
Suno Chand is a romantic comedy that has characters that you will fall in love with, be it the main protagonists Arsal & Jiya or the special characters Jalal bhai, Billo ji. Right from you are hooked on to the story. Oh one more thing, Indian tv serials & movies tend to make caricatures of people from different regions. They can't get the accent right nor the behaviour. The way Pathan character of Jalal khan has been portrayed in this serial is a revelation. The dialogues are also not over the top, its something a urdu/hindi speaker across both sides od the border would speak in their daily life. You almost feel as you are part of the household sitting amongst them that is how the serial engrosses you. The attachment is so strong that once the serial ends you miss it.
Please watch it & appreciate it so that the writers, producers ans actors are motivated to create more.

Absolutely brilliant drama series much better than any series I have recently watched, honestly! And I mean including Hollywood!
There wasn't a single moment where I felt it dragged even a tiny bit. I must admit I don't usually watch dramas however this was highly recommended by my friends. The leads had excellent onscreen chemistry which is vital & all the other actors/actresses played their parts beautifully.
I highly recommended it if you haven't seen it already. Rest assured it doesn't have any vulgarity & can be seen with family & children of all ages.
And Iqra Aziz, who plays the lead in this serial is so beautiful. I mean she is just stunning. I repeat she is absolutely gorgeous! Sizzling & breathtaking beauty! I'd never even heard of her before but again I don't usually watch Pakistani series. Mostly Hollywood. But my o my she is just incredibly gorgeous!

Suno chanda is a very special romantic comedy serial, one of the must watch serials. The best thing about this serial is its not mainly focused on protagonist. All the characters in this serial will make you fall in love with them starting from (chaprasi) to (protagonist). This serial has been popular all the world, india , Pakistan, Bangladesh, nepal etc. It will make you laugh, It will make you cry

This Show is the best ever show in the world, we can neglect the ekta kapoor shows in front of it, what a chemistry between iqra and farhan, best dialogue delivery, timing of punchlines, and the best actress Iqra just loved it, eagerly waiting for it's third season.

As an Indian fan of Pakistani dramas, I don't get the hype around Suno Chanda...I am on episode 6 and the story has not moved a bit...the leads have the same two expressions on their faces throughout...and why have they got so young men to play the fathers of the leads....the hype is beyond my understanding...I dragged till episode 6 hoping that the story will pick up...🤷♂️...but it appears that I am wasting my time..I have fond memories of dramas like "Maat" which had story developing in every episode backed by impressive acting and dialogues...not to mention Zindagi Gulzar hain, Hunsafar, even Akbari Asghari...

One of the best romance comedies I've seen up to date. Suno Chanda (seasons 1 & 2) is like a security blanket that you keep beside you for comfort. They couldn't have selected a more perfect cast for this drama, from the main leads to the quirky and hilarious extended family and friends, everyone just fit so well together like the pieces of a puzzle. This drama offered romance and great chemistry between the leads, jokes that have you laughing out loud, all within a family centric setting promoting family values. I've lost count of how many times I've watched this show, but I put it on whenever I'm in need of a laugh or looking for something lighthearted, pretty much my comfort show. I definitely recommended giving Suno Chanda a chance, trust me you won't regret it.

I loved this romcom so much. Stellar performances by Iqra Aziz, Farhan Saeed, and Nadia Afghan, who deserve particular praise and recognition for their performances. The remaining cast also play well to their roles, and bring further light relief.
Sunno Chanda is a perfect blend of comedy, romance and drama. Whether constantly ribbing each other or delivering dramatic emotional scenes, Aziz & Saeed as Gia and Arsal set the screen ablaze. Very natural and believable performances. Just can't get enough of this duo.
The dynamic between Farhan Saeed & Nadia Afghan who plays his mother is also incomparable. The mother/son bickering and Shahana's (Afghan) comedic punjabi idioms are a delight, and provide endless scenes of rib tickling wit.
Although the play is well written, the additional improvised dialogues only add to the wit and comedy.
The story is well thought out and plausible. With 30 episodes I feared it might drag on for too long but, the ending was a perfectly rounded climax.
I could watch this over and over again. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for quality viewing.
