Karakomik Filmler: 2 Arada

THAT'S SOMETHING ELSE

Lots of people says Cem Yilmaz screwed up on Karakomik project but I liked the concept. 2 Arada is a powerful movie. It was fun. I really support Yilmaz about what he is trying to do on this one.

Deserves Respect

Cem Yilmaz is well known with his comedy movies but he tried different staff in Karakomik series. Apparently he wanted to give meaning to his work by creating dramatic stories and using strong personalities. I have got the message the Karakomik wants to give. Even if it could be better in some ways, Karakomik was a nice drama.

A different character

2 Arada, which is a medium-length film, is a more drama-weighted film than the other film of the series. Examining the life and character of Ayzek, the main character of the movie, the film also conveys to the audience how dangers and greed will cause when combined with power. Cem Yilmaz was with a different character this time. The master actor also made his experience in this movie and a more successful work emerged compared to the other movie of the series.

Its in the title.

Why people expected this one has to be comedy or has to be funny is plain stupid. I guess people just love hating those days. Indeed it was a very experimental movie and I wished it was the only one so it could have been polished more but still build up to the ending was so great and rewarding. Just keep your walk Cem brother we hear you, we get you.

Exactly what I expected

Yes, these two are not typical Cem Yilmaz movies, so those expecting something like Arif v 216 or Yahsi Bati may well be disappointed -BUT, the teasers and pretty much everything Cem Yilmaz said about these films in advance had already told us that he was doing something new, something different than his earlier works and masterpieces. The first movie of the Kara Komik Filmler series, 2 Arada, is a unique film and the character, "Ayzek" shines like a star. I don't want to share even the slightest spoiler here, so I'll just say: we love you, Ayzek! I think those who see cinema as mostly commercial/simple fun may find 2 Arada rather dull, but those who respect and appreciate the 7th art will like it. As for the second movie, Kacamak, well, it does make you laugh with a cast we all love, but it's not as powerful and unique as 2 Arada. However, the production, visuals and overall quality is praiseworthy, as is the case with any other Cem Yilmaz movie to date. All in all, I liked the 'single ticket for two films' concept, and liked 2 Arada more than Kacamak, and I'll definitely be seeing the 3rd and 4th movies of the Kara Komik Filmler series in January 2020. Hats of to Cem Yilmaz for his courage in unique works and significantly higher quality films in Turkish cinema -he really is good at competing with himself

P.S: I think one of the problems with Kacamak was the inadequate English language skills of the actress portraying Carolyn (Nilperi Sahinkaya) versus the native speaker actors and Alisan Ugur (Rich).

Black Comic

It was an interesting idea.

Cem Yilmaz is great and always does different things.

This movie isn't his best, but it's something different.

A Great Disillusionment

Karakomik Filmler (2019) is a really terrible surprise for Cem Yilmaz fans. It falls short of any genuine comedy-full of stale and dirty jokes and tricks. The film comprises two parts-neither of which could be considered as well played. This is the first time nationally famous comedian and stand-up showman hugely disappointed me. I could almost assert that this is a bad movie for Yilmaz's career. Except maybe for Ayzek, all the other characters are nothing but shallow caricatures just like the plot itself. All in all, I would not recommend this film for real film lovers as it would be a complete waste of time.

Best movie made by Cem Yilmaz

Very good shots, character development, story telling and set design. By far the best movie of Cem Yilmaz as various aspects are concerned. Good depiction of the Faustian bargains we make each day as we try to meander the tough rules of the work life.

This movie was a pure disappointment

We know Cem Yilmaz as a very good comedian, unfortunately this movie is a sheer disappointment!

Rather than the film has much dirty talk, the film is very bad and very unfortunately below expectations.

He did two films in one with a time of 60+- minutes for each. There are no points where you can see the trafic between them and you are asking why and what was that? Where is the good story i was waiting for?

I do not recommend this film to anyone. Don't throw your money out, it's a pity. Waste of two hours of time.

A great drama

I didn't go to the cinema because of many negative criticisms when the movie came out. Now i watched at home. I regret. I wish I had seen it in the cinema. I would like to support.

Since he's a comedian, people want him to make comedy movies all the time. This movie is called "comedy - drama" in IMDB as i see. This movie was shown as 2 different films at the same session (2 movies that are 1 hour long.), so probably the "comedy" was the second movie. I haven't watched the second one yet.

A movie worth watching, with secret references.

Why

A weak combination of two stories that keeps making you ask why. Why are these stories two parts of a feature film? Why is this film's title alluding to black comedies? Why should we care about any of these characters?

***SPOILERS***

A big question after seeing this film is "Why?". Why did we see these two films together? One of these films is a somewhat interesting entry to the mind of a lonely and somewhat deluded ferryman with the twist that it was all a hallucination (well, most of it). The other film is the holiday of a few guys that turns awry when one of them goes missing and guess what, it's aliens! The second film was outright atrocious with extremely bland characters, and a directionless plot for the most of it. The first film has a main character and a vague direction, but the rest of the cast is as bland as those of the second film.

Furthermore, one has to consider the title. Again, the question here is why. Were either of these stories black comedies? The first one had some potential as one, but the second one was just a cheap comedy with the humor of both movies being low brow jokes mostly contained to one liners.

***END OF SPOILERS***

Overall, the first film had some potential that wasn't fulfilled, and the second one was a total waste of time.

Deep Meaning ...

It is obvious that most people watched this movie as straight logic. However, the film has a deep meaning under the subject it offers. In particular, the stress and trauma experienced by the people working in the periphery on the smallest issue is explained. Maybe we do not even worry about such simple issues like these people, but this is not the same for people who live a limited life.

Waste of money and more important, waste of time.

Dirty talk may be fun in many occasions but not every time. I feel like they used slang and swear just to use them. No meaning no humor no harmony. Honestly, I was not that surprised as many of Cem Yilmaz movies before were below average. He should do only stand up. Nothing else.

Great!

This is simply great. It actually feels very real even though it's very absurd. Cem Yilmaz wrote a great script about very ordinary man's life and yet he made it interesting. I love the whole 60 mins of 2 movies concept. And those moveis are really Comidark.

Esp second one is waste of time. First one is an easy and a cheap story. Cem Yilmaz can do way better ones.

Comparison

What is the comparison in c.yilmaz movies. He made his brand value. Now we say cem yilmaz movies. He tried something that are unconventional and for me he succeeded.First part not perfect but was good.In the second part it was funny and gave what you want. I think it deserves more than 6 point because it is avantgarde.

Shameful

Cheap and dirty jokes. It seems Cem Yilmaz can't produce comedy without slangy language. I think he made this film to give some money to his friends... I went the movie with my wife and i'm very regretful. Waste of time and money...It deserves zero point but i should give 1 star. Cem Yilmaz has died for me.

A masterpiece

We have seen many Cem Yilmaz movies but this is unique in a sense that it doesn't aim for comedy. It is obvious that characters are shaped as a result of a tedious observation process over the years. I would criticise Cem Yilmaz for being wasteful of so many good scenarios because he rushed to produce more previously but this one was well-thought. He definitely getting somewhere with his genious level intelligence, sharp observational skills and accumulated experince in movie-making. Keep up the good work!

Cem Yilmaz is not a director!

We've seen this many times. As in Ali Baba and 7 Dwarfs, she tries to make people laugh by using profanity. It's okay if he does this in a comedy. But please don't do that in the drama movie.

The best part is that you have an hour.

Everything else is average...

Cem Yilmaz and His Gang in Action Again

I have watched all the movies of Cem Yilmaz. This one is the worst. Seeing the same players in every movie is boring. It seems they found a gang and don't let anyone else join. There is 2 movie and they are hardly related to each other except the initial and last scene. But these two scenes seem artificially put into movie to manipulate audience perception: "oh yes, these two is related". If we have to compare two: the second one is better.
