Ghost Babe

Thanks to this movie I learned that while a plastic skag is fine for some people, the totally rad among us will use carbon fiber because it just so tubular bitchen and apparently capable of better penetration. That is sadly not near as much fun as it seems, much like this movie. Filmed at a house I'd like to see, on grounds that seemed interesting, with a bar and then a beach that looked like fun. Also heard about a Cadillac margarita, a drink that's new to me. Was that worth the time spent here? Hardly. Nice surf scenes that were just pointless. The bar scenes were, oh hell, this movie is pointless. Nice production values, adequate acting but just a rambling mess of a meandering waste.

Needless to say that of course I had never heard about the 2023 movie "Ghost Babe" from director Luis Felipe Delgado. But of course I opted to sit down and watch the movie, as I had the opportunity to do so here in 2024. Of course I had no expectations to the movie, because I virtually didn't know what I was in for here.

Writers Braden Bacha and Ani Orris put together a pretty straightforward storyline, though it was rather generic and predictable. There weren't really any ups and downs along the 80 minutes that the movie ran for, and that made sitting through "Ghost Babe" somewhat of an ordeal and a struggle.

Of course I was not familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, aside from John Philbin. The acting performances in the movie were adequate, but you're not in for an evening of Shakespearian performances here, if you should be in any doubt.

"Ghost Babe" looks like a high end amateurish home video project, and I can't really claim that I was overly impressed with the movie. It is definitely not a movie that I will recommend you waste your time, money or effort on.

My rating of "Ghost Babe" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.

So funny and an amazing cast. We'll written and cinematography is killer. If you are a surfer or an ocean lover this movie is a must see. Great soundtrack super cool effects. The boys are off the chart great timing and madness! I have a lot friends like these guys and probably would be reacting the same way. In a time where life is so serious this movie helps you get away for awhile and just have fun!!shout out to all involved it is a massive undertaking to get a movie released. You guys have nailed it! Congrats to the cast and the crew for putting all your talent into this!! Great job and look forward to your next endeavor!

Believe me. ANYONE rating this more than 3 stars has something to do with this "film."

The description sounded great. It started off really good. And then Thelma dies, we fast forward to current year and ... it all goes down hill from there.

The guys are thirty something year old surfer wannabes. That, in and of itself should be enough reason to forgo this. But that one dude... the bearded guy... OH. MY. GOSH. For starters, he cannot go anywhere without skipping and dancing. Like, AT ALL. The other two guys, while annoying, are still better than him.

The girl, while attractive, is older looking than you would expect for a 1930's starlet. As a ghost, she's just annoying. In corporeal form, she's not too bad.

Like I said, the story itself could have been really good, if it wasn't apparently written by a couple of film school dropouts. It was a good premise completely ruined by by writing.

And do not get me started on the "dmtina" band... oh good grief...

Save yourself the wasted time.

The film was good. Obviously working on a smaller budget, they pulled it together with a nice story, albeit one we would have liked to see fleshed out a bit more as it was quite predictable. It was adequate for this film companies first endeavor and low budget.. Ghost Babe is a character driven movie and though it was a little campy at times AND the plot folds briefly somewhere in the middle, it does find its way out before you know it.. For my wife and I, we were so invested in the characters, one in particular, that the plot holes and predictable outcomes are easily overlooked. Radman seems to take over the entire movie. He was our favorite character and was not only charismatic and easily likable but he kind of takes over each scene. His character is relatable and very real. Very, very nice work by the actor. Overall we give this movie 7 out of 10 stars.

Though, we believe that four to five stars would be the normal rating most would give the film, we added two stars for the Radman character and look forward to seeing what else this company and this particular actor have in store.
