Good concept, fun, but cheap prize

I always thought this show looked dumb on the commercials but I started watching it and it grows on you. John Michael Higgins is a good host. He has a nice dry sense of humor and makes funny, witty comments when contestants give ridiculous answers. He is also very professional, unlike Steve Harvey. It's entertaining trying to guess the blanks and can be pretty challenging. Whoever wins gets $1,000 (divided by 4 people = $250 if you lose) And if you win you get an additional $15,000, so total $16,000 (divided by 4 only $4,000 each) and it's never a whole family, it's always a mix or a group of 4 friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc. So maybe if the prize was at least like $60k that would be better cause then it'd be $15,000 per person. And they should make the first prize higher too. Most people don't even win the grand prize. Overall it's okay when nothing else is on. I'd still rather watch family feud though.

15k too rarely won

Love Michael and the premise of the show, but I wish they'd rethink the bonus round so that people can win more often. MOST of the times they don't win the 15k and it gets very frustrating for the viewers!!

WHO is the "AMERICA" who's "Saying"?

I've searched long and hard to determine from where their answers come, but to no avail! Some of their answers are totally absurd! ...and why isn't the "Grand Prize" easily divisible by four, such as $16,000 (or $20,000) for instance?!

Good Natured Family Fun

This show grows on you. The host has a nice dry sense of humor. The teams are likable. It favorably compares to Family Feud, which has become needlessly raunchy and somewhat disgusting in recent years. I like how the question is visible on the board, unlike on Feud. It helps my hard-of-hearing family member play along.

America Says

I like the show. My 8 year old grandson along with the rest of the family enjoy playing. I do think the winning team should receive some money for each correct answer in final round instead of having to get 10 right answers to win the $15,000. How about at least $100 per right answer.

Great show but needs bigger budget

I like the show and I like John Michael Higgins. But if you can't afford to pay out the big prize at the end, then maybe rework the business model or find more funding. Don't make people guess words like "jackalope". Are you fu**ing kidding me?

Fast paced / Enjoyable game show

I enjoy this show. The first couple of times I watched this, I also thought the contestants could be actors (some were over the top), but I've watched more episodes, and see that the players are just very peppy and enthusiastic. The host is very good at interacting with the contestants. It's similar to Family Feud, but I think this show is much more family friendly and I think kids would enjoy watching this too. Glad to see that GSN has added a second half hour of the show (replaying the first episodes that I missed). I hope that GSN will renew for an additional season.

Contestants don't always get credit when for their answers

One team member answered "scissors" twice to question about things that could poke your eye out. The correct answer was revealed to be "pair of scissors". If the response was one of the top 7 from a group of people, it impossible that they were all that precise.Does the person who posts the answers know what was included when the answers were collected. Why wasn't the first answer recognized? I thought this was only a problem in the early shows, but this example is from the third season. Here are a couple of other examples. Things that have to be bigger for Shaq, door jam was accepted but not door when proposed by the opposing team. For things in an office, copier was accepted but not copy machine. There are many more examples and they makes the show hard to watch.

Thank you for listening

I wrote in December of 2020 with a suggestion. Thank you so much for listening. I have noticed the change in the show to mine and other fans about the suggestion. Just a suggestion: We never can see or hear the last word of each puzzle because the camera goes away from the board with the answers. Please give us the courtesy of keeping the camera on the board long enough to view the answers. Thank you.

Not bad

It's kind of a mashup of Family Feud and Match Game. It's a lot less stupid and a lot more fun than I thought it would be.

Love it...but miss answers

Great show. Do wish they would always zoom in on the answers. We can't understand when everyone yells it and without zooming in we can't see the answer. Great show though.

Too chatty

I originally gave this show 8, but I lowered it due to the excessive interaction with the contestants. This is a game show, not a talk show. At least edit the excessive comments from these chatty people before you air the show. Let the team captain introduce each member and then give short explanation of what binds them together. End of social time with contestants 😁

Enough already!

This show is aggravating. Good concept but they clearly don't want anyone to win. For example: "name things you flip". One of the answers: "lights". Huh?? Did you mean "light switches"? There are about 10 stupid answers like this per show and the host tries to justify the answers. In my opinion, expand the budget or forget it!

They are way too cheap

This show is way too cheap, the final price is only 15000 and they make it super hard. There will always be an weird hard answer that nobody knows. 9 out 10 times the team will lose.

Contestants view

I am very curious about what the contestants see because they are looking off in a different direction. We can immediately tell whether a guess has a chance by the length of the word but I see contestants guess a long word when it is obviously a short word and vice a versa so do they also have a chance to see about how long the word is and they are just a dummy?

Also two comments about GSN. Why do they make it so difficult to leave an opinion about one of their shows and it is really annoying when you are watching a show and they either are advertising for the next show or showing their logo and they block the view of what we are watching which is often the clue or the answer?

Family Fued with a twist.

America says survey questions with the first letter of 7 possible answers .you & your team get 1 minute. Example. America says my Favorite flavor of ice cream is. .. C ______. Sometimes they yell out a word that has nothing to do with the question or a word that doesn't even start with that letter. One woman said Carpet ..really ?? Another of the 5 players said Rasin. That doesn't start with C.. .Some stare at the board as time goes by and wastes someon elses turn.there are questions with odd answers when they get revealed. Great host. Fun game yet frustrating.

Inconsiderate Camera Director Irritates TV Viewer

"America Says" game show is somewhat fun to watch. Contestants guess at seven fill-in-the-blank words to complete a sentence based on a survey. Usually the teams cannot guess all seven. When missed words are revealed on the game screen to the studio audience, teams, host Michael Higgins, and the TV viewers, THE MOST INCONSIDERATE EVENT OCCURS: THE SHOW'S DIRECTOR OF CAMERA SHOTS CHOOSES TO HAVE A FAR AWAY SHOT OF THE LAST TWO WORDS SO THEY ARE HARD TO READ. WITH THE TEAMS AND STUDIO AUDIENCE YELLING I CANNOT MAKE OUT WHAT WAS SAID NOR THE SPELLING OF THE LAST WORDS. On occasion I run up to the 31 inch TV SCEEEN to see better . I am unhappy that "America Says" is not TV viewer friendly for me to watch the ending of each round before the $15,000 FINALE. Learn from Match Game hosted by Gene Rayburn. The answers revealed by the sliding panels are NEVER LONG RANGE CAMERA SHOTS. THEY ARE ALWAYS CLOSE UP SHOTS! "America Says", QUIT THE INSANITY !

Real or fake?

I really like the premise of this show, but sometimes the contestants seem so over the top, I can't help but wonder if they're actors.

Could be good- should be good but isnt

Three major problems with this show that really should be better than Family Feud. 1. The host is even worse than Family Feud with his unfunny attempts at wit and complete lack of charisma. 2. The prize money is pathetic and not worth embarrassing oneself for. 3. Its all about the luck of the draw in the questions. Some are ridiculously easy whilst others are too hard. I like to watch it but these three issues make it a chore to properly enjoy when the premise is actually better than FF especially without Steve Harvey and the blatant double entendres he actively uses to try and make himself appear funny.

Better than Family Feud

I enjoy this show a lot. However, I have to wonder exactly where they are finding the Americans they are polling....there are some REALLY stupid answers on there. I find the host to be good at his job and charismatic; the only negative thing I can say about him is that I think his pants are usually about an inch too short, and the brown shoes he wears every other day don't go with his suits...JMH, stick with the darker shoes!!!! Otherwise, my husband and I enjoy the show, and usually shout out answers at the TV!

An ok game show

An interesting premise , guessing the top 7 answers to fill in the blank questions from a poll involving the American public. Not a lot of money though considering you have 4 people and they only get 1,000 for winning a match against another team and 15,000 if they win the bonus game meaning 4 thousand a piece, Not chump change but nothing compared to other shows like TPIR ,Wheel Of Fortune or Who wants to be a Millionaire.

Now the bad part , besides the hosts cornball humor , quite a few of the contestants are idiots , they repeat answers that were said by the person before them or repeat the same answer they already said. Or they reply out of turn costing their team time in the bonus round. That's where I'd wanna slap someone, to hear the same person hear an answer and then repeat it as their guess , i mean are these people that dense or just mentally challenged?

Foolish host

Could Michael Higgins behave more ridiculously? I think not.

Higgins is an educated man and graduated from one of America's finest liberal arts colleges. So why does he act so foolishly? That's the $64,000 question.

I find it quite ingratiating when he approaches a team at the outset and says, "Thank you so much for coming. Don't you look beautiful!" Ugh . . . And why is he thanking THEM? Have they done HIM a favor?

Next, for an English major, he certainly has a remarkable dearth of words in his vocabulary. Exactly how many times in each game must he say "well done!" to a team? I've lost count. I mean, at least say it when it's warranted, e.g., when the team pulls at least five out of seven off the board. Yet Higgins has the inexplicable need to congratulate the players with his hackneyed "well done!" even if they've only guessed two or three correctly. The words have no meaning.

Here, though, may be the thing he repeats the most: Is it really necessary to remind everyone six times a show that the winning team ". . . Has a chance to win $15,000!" Higgins says it ad nauseam; it's grating and unnecessary. Two or three times would suffice.

As for the game itself, many of the contestants appear to be idiots. Clearly, auditions are not de rigueur. For example, several years ago in the final round for the big money, the question was, "What is something that might be on your face?" There was a fairly short space beginning with "s," but not one person on the team could come up with "smile." See what I mean?

After I watched several episodes, that was it for me. The show is not exciting, most of the players are clueless, and Higgins behaves ridiculously.
