I am huge fan of the US Version of The Office, which is the only reason why I am even watching this show at the first place. Characters of Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute are absolutely disappointing in the Indian version. The first 3 episodes were really boring. But there are a few laughs here & there after 4th episode. Not a good remake though.
Watched an episode and a half, couldn't go any further. It's a half-decent attempt to recreate the magic that the good folks of Scranton once created. I'm not sure whether they would be able to recreate the same magic if the makers ever decided to come back for another season.
Someone who has even watched the whole series (multiple re-runs in our case) or even snippets on youtube, may not find this version amusing. The jokes and situations are literally translated and Michael's unintentional humour has been replaced with lazy Hindi/Punjabi jokes which very rarely land. The actors, especially the ones who play Michael's, Jim's & Pam's character, have put in a lot of effort, but the glue that binds the whole show, i.e. the legendary Dwight Shrute, is MIA. Gopal Dutt is without a doubt a great actor, but in this case he seems to be a miscast.
I'd rather watch another re-run of the US Office than going through the Hindi translated version of it.

There is zero dialogue delivery. Amit, the Jim doppelgänger has zero expressions on his face unlike John Krasinski. Then there is a mix of politics of putting nationalism, politics and hidutva that the Dwight character plays... and this haryanvi character on Pam's fiancé, Parmeet... is like a gunda and his behaviour would not even survive in any office place.
And then there is a confusing culture that is incorporated in the show, its a mix of american and indian.
One can relate to this, because they have the US show... otherwise it is a pretty hopeless

Coming from a huge US Office fan, it's a decent remake with Indian touch, Dwight's actor is good, I found the Jagdeep character irritating at first but then after 2-3 episodes you will see that he is doing an amazing job, atleast trying to keep it in his own style, it's still better than the daily soaps out there, you will have fun watching it, Jim's and Pam's character are a little turn off, same with Kevin's, he seems smart in it but if you don't compare it with the UK or US version, 1st episode is boring, but it's the 2nd episode which will grip you to watch it. Try it and don't compare it with the other one.
A lot of people are offended that they copied the "original" version and they are citing Michael Scott's character. The actual original was the British version by Ricky Gervais and American writers faced the exact same hate when they were writing season 1 of the US version. It all turned out well in the end.
Writing in this Indian version remains faithful to the American one with some minor changes. The acting is GOOD, especially Gopal Datt! I don't know why anyone would say it's horrible.
Is it as good? No. Is it as bad as the rating makes it look? No!
Overall it deserves a better rating than the 3.5 it has now. Give it a chance. If you haven't watched the American one, you will likely get some chuckles out of it. If you have, It will at least not make you cringe. It's decent enough.
