The Jam: Town Called Malice

The little words I can say about this music video relates more with the music experience I had over the years with it, especially during times when I didn't know the band neither their faces. Without the visuals, it's one of those most played tracks in rock stations and one memorable moment in "Billy Elliot". By the time I kept hearing this song, I always imagined as being something from the British Invasion rock movement of the 1960's, but the reality moves to early 1980's. Anyway, it's a song that makes you move and it's brilliant.

However, The Jam music videos were mostly performances rather than concepts used or acting bits, so there isn't much to be said or seen except that there's plenty of time to get to know band members, filmed through static shots, little movements as possible, and a great use of lighting over their heads and in the background. Music videos at its infancy, but the real aim is to sell the music, the rhythm and the lyrics rather than delivering a wild explosion of visuals and effects. Still works today. 8/10.
