The concept is heartening, if not the execution. My wife went to see this show last year and said it was much funnier in person (also adding that it's been truncated for Netflix consumption). Martin and Short are two reliable names in comedy, and getting to see these two on stage is appealing, let me tell you. Not all of the jokes were gold, and only a couple of them really close the deal.
But as much as Steve Martin owns the stage with his banjo (and a top-shelf backing from the Steep Canyon Rangers), Martin Short's mildly deranged sense of humor provides the memorable gags.
In the end, an enjoyable evening.

3/27/18. These two elder comedians of yore (yes, they are that old) are still pretty funny in this two-men show. Comedy usually doesn't age well but Martin and Short can still make it work. Catch for a stroll down memory lane.
I have watched quite a few Netflix comedy specials featuring comedians doing very difficult material, or doing very crude and modern stuff, so the offer of two Hollywood comedians hitting the screen did appeal to me. This delivered just what I had hoped, which is to say that it was polished, well-rehearsed, but very well-delivered. The setup is simple, which is that that Martin and Short open together, have some time on-stage alone, but mostly are together as a duo. They zing off each other in the way old pros do, and the one-liners are mostly strong.
There are a few comments here about them being elitist and talking themselves up as being famous, but I think those people miss that this is part of the joke. They actually jab at one another really well, each letting themselves be a target for the other. The chemistry is good throughout, and the two men are good individually and together, with timing and delivery from decades in the business. It feels a bit old fashioned compared to the more edgy (but less funny) Netflix comedy specials, but this is part of its charm and a bit part of it working.
Very polished, natural, charming, and funny throughout - well worth a look.

35 years on stage. I am 40 years old. These guys are my whole life. forget the 2000 births learned on the comedy disney channel. this show is gorgeous. It's like it's been around for 35 years.
I'm a comedy fan but somehow both Steve Martin and Martin Short have escaped me. As someone who's never experienced their comedy, I had a truly pleasant experience. They have a great comradery and bounce off each other well. A little over rehearsed at times, but it made me smile and feel a little warm inside. Martin Short's impressions were excellent, and whilst his physical comedy doesn't always sit well with me, his 70s style comedy transcends the ages. Steve Martin almost seems a bystander to Short's comedy at times, but his stories make up for it (as the far better storyteller).
Overall, it's a pleasant watch that is nothing like today's comedy. Apparently these two comedians have influenced today's prominent comics, and you can tell. Louis CK gets his story style from Short, Gervais pulls from Martin's intelligent wit and self deprecation. As long as you expect an understated experience to enjoy two people working well together, you will have an entirely pleasant experience. 7/10
