Anytime Is Ice Cream Time

A very different kind of take from Steve Cutts. I've read various interpretations of what the message behind this animated short might be-and perhaps there is one, since Cutts is known for embedding clear social commentary in his work. But I'm not so sure.

To me, this feels more like it was made purely for entertainment-or perhaps as a way to experiment with a specific animation technique or software. The story revolves around ice creams-we follow the lives of several different ice cream characters simultaneously. The only common thread is that they all meet a dark fate, which fits with Cutts' signature tone.

I think it's a fun little animation, and we don't need to overthink it. Sometimes it's best to just enjoy it for what it is.

Pointless film. And to say true, boring as well (Usually a short film can not be boring). I know it's meant to be a satire on human's heartlessness but it is so weird that i can't bear it.

I don't know Steve Cutts. But he seems to be a paragon of insensitivity. In this one, the main characters are various ice cream treats. They are humanlike but subject to the ravages of the desert and melting. But we also have the human element that torments them and keeps them enslaved. This is about as violent as a cartoon can get as these creatures are tortured and crushed and eaten. Unlike anything I've seen before.
