A very different and unique approach to explaining individual crimes and those involved. After watching the first 3 seasons, I was surprised to be confronted with a very troubling episode called: Alone Against All Odds, season 3, episode 5. The attitude of the local police and specialized units that should have worked WITH Philippe Savelli, a policeman from outside the Grenoble jurisdiction to help stop a serial rapist, was shocking to say the least. Their behaviour towards him and towards the young female victims made me so angry and I cannot imagine how this determined policeman kept his cool and stayed the course. Their behaviour towards details and opinions/attitudes of the many investigators and others who became involved in these crimes is really revealing and helpful in understanding how the so-called justice system fails so often and lets criminals off too lightly, despite the hard work put in by those who capture and persecute these criminals.
