this is not a drama this is unbearable pain

For those who do not know him or the type of music he performed during his early career , he always sang very sad and sorrowful songs , and he sang them so sincerely and effectively, his fans used to cut themselves with razor during his concerts, but he never mentioned about his personal life in front of cameras, but after I watched this film and learned about his story, I can only say, ''wow'' how could he endure such big pain and agony? I dont want to go give away any spoilers, I just can't believe a man can live with such pain you need to watch and see it for yourselves and acting was very good great cast congrats to everyone contributing to this film

Best Biographic Movie of Turkey

This can be the best biographic movie of Turkish cinema. Timucin Esen's acting was a nirvana. The little kid was good too. I laughed and cried at the theatre... Pure art and a good salute for a good man...

Muslum Father's Whole Life was a Drama

One of Turkish arabesque music icon's life story. The story itself is great and acting is perfect. You can taste the pure Turkish arabesque music in this movie.

FATHER OF MILLIONS

This movie is so special. There wont be another Gurses, he is the only one in history, espacially in this type of music. Film is really successful about make you feel emotions of the story. No lie, I cried few times. What a dolorous life. Cast did so much better than I thought. Timucin Esen and Sahin Kendirci made a brilliant job. We can see inside of character clearly. Also musics are great, of course. But there are some problems about directing, storytelling and cinematography but these things can be tolerated after all. Rest in peace father. Your children love you.

Great Film for Turkish Cinema

This is biography of the best arabesque music singer Muslum . A very dramatic life story. Of course there is some negative things for movie. But this is unimportant. Because there are very few examples in Turkish Cinema.( for biography) Anyway, definitely watch the movie and feel the Muslum's pain.

The father of the fathers Müslüm Gürses...

A dramatic life story of Turkey's best arabesque artist. I can really say it's one of the best biography movies in music. If you watch, you can add great things to your life.

better than I expected

I've watched other films of the director. There was'nt sense of cinema. They looked like a TV show. But, This is not a movie. You feel the sense of cinema. if only, the songs were short. disrupts realism.

Strongly Recommended

As a Turkish person I would like to say that I usually don't prefer neither of dramas and Turkish movies. However this film made me to look in another perspective. I would like to thank all the cast to make this monumental Turkish film. Strongly recommended to watch.

Timucin Esen's great perfomance

Although great performance of Esen, film has a weak story. Sudden pass from his teenager years to adult was very disappointing. Some parts of the film is rather than a film story it seems like documentary or vice versa . Also a paragraph for the young actor Sahin Kendirci (young Muslum). I congratulate him from heart for his great performance which made us cry. Zerin Tekindor was perfect in the role of Muhterem Nur.

As a result, rather than story great performances saves the film being a bad one

It's better than my expectations.

I was prejudiced watching the movie. I was just waiting for the emotional exploitation. Ok, The film is a very emotional film. But if it's called emotion exploitation? It's a proper and right emotional exploitation.

Overrated in general

Certainly it is not a bad movie but not a legendary one in terms of cinematographic value as described in the other comments here. I guess the film received such high recognition just because most people in Turkey tend to like wailful life stories. They always attract great attention.

A milestone for Turkey

This movie is a milestone for Turkish cinema industry. Beside the amazong performance of Timucin Esen, cinematography is very sophisticated and visionary for Turkish cinema (i put Nuri Bilge Ceylan in other category ofcourse). Respect to actors, amazing performances.

Muslum

The movie is really good. They have reflected the spirit of those years very well, both with the costumes, the locations, and the quality of acting. Timucin Esen is undoubtedly very successful, but in my opinion, there is an actor who is no less than him, even though he is much younger, and that is Sahin Kendirci. Muslum Baba's life story is so heartfelt. It's a great thing that it was passed on to us in a touching way. Well done to everyone who contributed. I hope we continue to see such quality films in Turkish cinema in the recent period. Of course, I recommend it.

You can also recommend it to your circle.

The real life story of the Father who was a man of wisdom and clemency, not just music.

The shocking biography of Müslüm Gürses, a man of music, heart, tolerance and respect. The movie is not just a musical biography, but it also has philosophy and wisdom in it. Although Müslüm suffers a lot throughout his life, he always welcomes and embraces humans without evaluating them in terms of good and evil. His character, particularly, reflects the culture of Anatolia and Anatolian people's clemency. The Father walked on a long and thin road, tried not to hurt anyone's feelings and sang with his heart and soul. He loved and was loved by many; it is highly possible that you can see the following sentence somewhere on the Internet: "One dead, eighty million wounded." which is no more an exaggeration after this movie.

Müslum Gürses deserved much better...

Müslüm Gürses and his tragic life story are seen as the success of this movie. Because of the problems with directing are so much that it looks like an amateur TV documentary. For example, in such a "serious" movie, it is not possible to understand why Müslüm Gürses hologram appears in the car store. In addition, none of the classic Müslüm Gürses songs are included in this film. All acting in the first part of his childhood and Zerrin Tekindor can be viewed for.

Best Turkish movie ever and ever

Timucin Esen was an act that deserved to receive an Oscar. If the academy does not see this acting, it would be a pity and unfair. Singer muslüm gürses' life is really a life story to be followed by thanking God. His life is past suffering and hardships.

And Timucin Esen played his life perfectly, thank you for greatest acting.

ONE OF A KIND

Müslüm Gürses' life was so devastating as we see in the movie. He stands up on his knees and rises up against all drama that fate brought to him. He reflects his pain through songs. You should watch and be prepared for shocking scenes. I applause all the cast and peaople who made this movie come into life. Biggest thank and respect is goin to Müslüm Gürses for sure.
