I'm a sucker for an epic love story but this was not one of them. It really appeared to be but just did not get deep enough for me. I really tried to give this a chance but it was just a bit too predictable & awkward. It had a lot of potential but it was just lacking in some areas and was a bit overdone in others. It was enjoyable but I just didn't get a strong sense of character or chemistry from either leads. The acting from the co-workers on the boat was very exaggerated compared to the tone of the rest of the film. For me it was very off balance in certain scenes. The cinematography was very beautiful, I did enjoy most of the scenery. All in all it was a good romantic movie but I doubt I will find myself watching it again.

If there is a worst movie ever been made I never heard of it. Terrible acting , very poor screenplay, there is more connection between me and any dog on the street than this couple of people in "love"

This is a romantic comedy for people with retard. Don\t waste your time and do not believe any high star reviews ( they are from the friends of the crew members or crew members themselves ).

Although unabashedly borrowing from "An Affair To Remember", this story kept me enthralled the whole way through. It's a warm and simple love story. Wait, I stand corrected. "Simple" doesn't sum it up. The gorgeous and authentic St. Petersburg locations and the cultural influences woven into each scene elevated the cinematography and the script out of the ordinary and into "surprising" film territory. If you are a true romantic with a travel bug, definitely watch this film!

Let a woman tell a woman's story without car chases, uber-masculinity and foul language. Let an action star play a troubled, conflicted and sensitive person. Let there be exotic locations and foreign languages. Let the rest of us see a film like this without bashing it into pieces.
I enjoyed the acting and emotionality of each character. I enjoyed the scenery. I enjoyed the kids. We need films like this where actors can demonstrate the range of human experience. So let them be!

I had never seen this movie before but it kept my attention beginning to end and then even wanting more. I guess the beautiful island hotel reminded me of our special honeymoon place in Jamaica long ago and brought back many memories. Thanks for the memories !!!

The storyline of bad-boy playboy redeemed by the integrous, humble beauty is common because we appreciate stories of redemption. They make us feel redemption is possible for us; they make us hopeful, so it's no wonder we're drawn to them. While most of these archetypical storylines are predictable--even scene by scene sometimes--this one is less so. It echos An Affair to Remember (1957 Cary Grant &1994 Warren Beatty), but its unique "backdrop," the world of Major League Soccer (MLS), allows this film to stand on its own. Redemptive stories about professional soccer players are fewer than cliched football/baseball/basketball storylines, lending freshness to this film. We get our happily-ever after, but the climax is more complex than expected, which is emotionally engaging. Ryan and Lana must work at reuniting, but what keeps them apart is understandable and thus, forgivable. Liam McIntyre's "broken playboy" is effective because he portrays the pre-injury, big-headed jerk with embarrassingly cringe-worthy hubris, making his brokenness after the "fall" realistic. The arrogant playboy gets the sudden, overwhelming "fall" he needs to arrive at the clarity and perspective that makes living and striving truly satisfying and rich. At first, chemistry between McIntyre and Jenia Tenaeva, who plays Lana, feels uncertain, but once Tenaeva's Lana opens her heart to Ryan, their chemistry is beautiful--enough to make their reunification feel authentic and cheer-worthy. Whether or not romantic films are your go-to, this one will capture and delight you in fresh ways.

Loved the plot line, beautiful scenery,. Just wish these movies would go a little further, show us what happens after the couple gets together. Like a baby, where they lived, did they get married..
Either way this is a nice, heartwarming love story!

I really enjoyed watching this movie. I got to journey with the characters as if I was there experiencing everything with them.
MIKE CESTARI and JENIA TANAEVA created a wonderful tale that was, just like what kim-lynn-mclean said, inspired by LOVE AFFAIR/AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER, with a twist. It stars one of the writers, Jenia Tanaeva, as the very gorgeous photographer/bartender/chamber maid, Lana, opposite LIAM MCINTYRE as the soccer great, Ryan Hawkes. There were love scenes, yes, but everything was done in good taste. They also have great chemistry.
Also in this story is HARVEY KEITEL as Billy, Ryan's manager, and probably best friend.
PETER TERESCHENKO stars as Danny, a young boy who idolizes Ryan Hawkes. He is Lana's greatest treasure, and only child.
LARISA MALEVANNAYA stars as Grandma Marina. She is very convincing as the no-nonsense Babushka of Lana and Prababushka of Danny.
OLEG TAKAROV plays Ruslan, the philandering husband of Lana, and because of him, Lana is a battered wife. In fairness to him, he tries to be a good father to Danny.
POPPY DRAYTON plays Elise, the fiancee of Ryan, who is only after fame and glory. It was her fault why she and Ryan had an accident, but if it wasn't for that accident, Ryan wouldn't have met Lana.
CARLA ABRUZZO plays Amanda, the jealous coworker of Lana in the cruise ship. She is also one of her roommates.
MARIE ELISE CONTE plays Angela, one of Lana's roomies, who turned out to be her good friend.
DOINA TEODORU plays Sabine from Haiti, also one of Lana's roomies who became one of her good friends.
and MARIANA SMIRNOVA plays Alina, Danny's "girlfriend"
DAVID MAHMOUDIE's name is new to me, but he is very good. I like his style as a Director.
Kudos to EVERYONE involved in this film in any capacity onscreen and behind the scenes.

Aside from the gorgeous story full of heartfelt love, warmth, redemption and a more than a sprinkle of fairy dust for all the romantics watching it this film is packed full of stunning cinematography, beautiful scenes both on the cruise ports and in St Petersberg.
Have no idea why it would be rated R..... very modest and no violence.....
Just adored this film......

This is a romance movie you can't miss. Starts out as a Pretty Woman movie and ends with Sleepless in Seattle. Classical storylines. Movie is clean and is able to be viewed by younger viewers. No nudity.

The story line kept you waiting even though you sort of knew the outcome. Great acting by both leads !! The male lead has 40 credits and i This is the only credit for the female lead and I intend on watching other movies he is in. Unfortunately this is the only credit for the female lead. At first I was skeptical but her performance was excellent. Hope to see more her and her writing. The filming and locations were spot on.

This is a great movie that is definitely much better than it's rating. It has it all, sports, love, tragedy, and faith in something much bigger. I would watch it again!

A very soft-hearted and warm story between a Russian mother and an American soccer star - as well as the profound Love between a Russian Mother, and the Love for her son.
The story is a also a bit symbolic of today's times - namely that Peace and Harmony between Russia and America will be restored.
There may be some bullies and scoundrels in Russia - who are preventing the younger generation from realizing their full potential and living a life of liberty and freedom - but ultimately the Love between Mother Russia and her Children will prevail :)
In particular cultural and economic relations between Russia and America will be restored - as the bond of Love and Friendship between Russia and America will prevail - as indicated in this fine Film, where there is a lot of lovin' between Russian and American folks :)
The story also symbolizes very much the Christian belief, that the purest form of Love, is the Love that a mother has for her child. However, true love can also flourish between a Russian mother and an American soccer star - as indicated in this fine film :)
PS: At the end of the day, all mothers want to protect their sons. And all mothers are devastated when their sons die in war - both in Ukraine and Russia. Hence Peace must be restored in the International Community. Period.
