It's a hot & humid summer here in Chicago which is typically the ripest romantic season but as we're still in the middle of this pandemic it hasn't felt quite as it should so I personally appreciated the softcore steamy escape to the south of France. I found empowering women themes played out, challenges to double standards, & some funny jabs at adult websites leading to underwhelming "sleepy time". HAH. I'd say a fun flick for a girls (or guys) night or solo wine & Netflix sesh. I'm a 30yo female. I noticed all the acclaimed critics almost all male... lame! They didn't get it?!

There is no deep storyline here. However, I enjoyed the beach atmosphere, beautiful people, erotic scenes, lovely music and hilarious nature of some scenes. This is a very good movie if you want to chill out a bit without making your mind exhausted.

Don't expect anything too deep when watching this movie. It literally feels like cracking open a beer and letting oneself unwind/unravel.

There's no captivating plot, but as an older woman (I'm going on 45), it was fun to see gorgeous French women in the same age group as I am having non-commital relationships and enjoying themselves. They do touch (very briefly) on how society looks at relationships strangely - ok for older men to be with younger females, but not accepting of older women with younger males.

It was cute and funny. Don't expect everlasting love. That was never the point of the plot or movie. Go in with a carefree, open-minded mentality and you'll enjoy the movie better that way.

This charming, erotic and hyper-realistic film about holiday romances would make the perfect antidote for anyone who's accidentally watched. Nancy Meyers' "The Holiday", which is most of us as it's on UK TV every night. Three gorgeous, older French women shack up with three French boys without any "meet cutes" or significant complications with exes. The intimacy coordinator - if they have them in France - must have been kept busy. Some safeguarding issues are handled with wit and aplomb, and there's no date rape, just a joke about it in the worst possible taste. And there's a pelican! Well worth watching although the English subtitles don't do the sassy French dialogue justice.
