This is way more than I expected when I ran across it on Amazon Prime!! The CGI is fantastic. The costumes and weapons were some of the best. The ships are what you would expect to see in a big budget movie. The acting was very well done and the action was really good. I say watch it.
The tendency for sci-fi shorts leaving the ending open has never left me more frustrated. I have a dislike for foul language also, but I understand the realism in this environment. I cannot recall more personality or better chemistry between characters embedded in any film of any length. Incredible writing, precise execution, extraordinary story development, and everything the viewer could ever hope for in less than fifteen minutes leading to...... nothing. Where's the payoff? If I'm willing to donate an emotional investment, I don't think it's too much to ask of the filmmaker to finish what he (they) started. The degree of missed opportunity cannot possiblity be overstated because such adjectives are as absent as the finale this tale deserves.
Excellent costumes, CGI, and acting were used to produce a short film that is rendered lifeless by the lack of story.
Sadly, the main actor has no idea at all how to portray a doctor. One can have all the FX in the world, but without believable characters the story is flat. Having a doctor in a story suggests there will be an emotional, philosophical, or existential element to the story, but nope, just a character who is a doctor in name only. He comes closer to being like Col Blake on MASH, except McLean Stevenson played a believable doctor. Actually, the character is closer to Brashears on Deep Space 9 (yawn).
So in this film the grunts on the ground are getting shot up and cut off from rescue, and are under assault from 360 degrees. Militarily senseless, illogical, and laughable things follow leading up to a "Wednesday Thursday Friday" ending, though the credits "entertain" us with "hilarious" outtakes that last as long as the film. Part of me thinks they could have paid the writers another $5 to at least finish the last scene, but they wanted instead to share with us outtake after outtake of someone forgetting his lines and everyone LOLing as if something like that has never happened before.
Nothing in the film was the least bit funny.
Nothing in the story was believable in the least, so it doesn't qualify as an action movie.
The reason I'm so angry with this film is that it was billed as some sort of critically-acclaimed "wildly fun" short film. The reality is that a handful of people made a short film that is pointless, lifeless, and meaningless, then they all printed up overhyped reviews to waste our time watching it.
Andrew Bowen delivers a short film that's a lot of fun but leaves some unanswered questions. My only complaint was that I wanted more. I would recommend this movie because it's just a 15 minute joyride that I'm probably going to go watch again right now.

This is the best sci-fi movie I have ever seen. Please someone pick this up and make it into a television show or feature film. Amazon prime, why have you not jumped on this, it is brilliant. Please fund this movie, and make it into an "Amazon original" starring the wonderful cast of the film short- you would make so much money!! This is a beautiful work of art, it was under 15 minutes and comedic and amazingly filmed written and edited and brought a tear to my eye. Please someone fund a longer version of this!!!

- CuriosidadesAndrew Bowen also lent his voice to the popular online Star Wars: the old Republic. He played an egocentric heart-of-gold combat medic... Named 'Doc'
- Cenas durante ou pós-créditosDirector Andrew Bowen added several hilarious bloopers and outtakes that happened on set to the film's end credits. The sequence is one of the funniest parts of the film!
