Herrliche Zeiten

They are known good actors but this is a miss. Doesn't know what it wants to be, comedy, satire, commentary, drama? Contrived and just not funny.

I can understand that not everybody likes or understands this movie, as its humour is rather dark and based on a view behind the thin layer of cozy, well-established bourgeois civilization.

Stay away if Hollywood's obvious storylines are your thing, but don't miss it if you like for example the darker Danish comedies like Green Butcher or Adam's Apples.

It's rare enough that a German movie combines good acting, beautiful imagery and a consistent storyline without destroying everything by theatre-style overacting or messing up the end.

Here everything is well-made, so this movie definitely deserves more attention.

I love german movies so much. But this one should be kept locked somewhere and never be shown to public again.

Bad forced fake acting, bad directing, unclear genre and very unpleasantly looking main actors whom you can bare to even look at for more than a minute straight that's how unlikable they are.

Every second watching it is pure torture and I think that is the hidden meaning of this movie; it's actually an experiment. An experiment how to make the most repulsive, annoying movie ever. And the answer is; remove everything the viewers need to get satisfaction from a movie. That's how. Yes, that's exactly what it is.
