Fighting Season

Great way to shine a light on all the casualties of war. Heavy in parts, confronting in parts. A few slow spots, but good overall.

I won't lie to you I have no idea about the army, especially the Australian army, I don't know about their rules or anything related to them, but the drama and mystery in this show is enough to keep you watching and biting your fingernails, the whole 6 episodes, Jay Ryan's performance was MAGNIFICENT, so were Ewen Leslie and Kate Mulvany's, but in my opinion Jay was the best, I would have loved to say the same about the wives characters and little boys, but well, they're secondary characters and we can let them pass, if you have the chance to watch it, don't miss it, you won't be sorry.

Guess war can drive people crazy no matter what you have done in a war zone. Terror, guilt and trauma can deeply affect every solider. That's what the movie is about. The movie tells us how four soldiers deal with their lives after returning from Afghanistan. In the meanwhile, a video of the suspicious death of Edward brings everyone doubts each other. Edward's wife, Kim, decides to find out what really happened to her husband.

Lots of suspense, e.g. Why Izzy is feels so guilty about himself; why there are different explanations about Edward's death, what really happened to him, and etc. While we look into each character's inner world, we also get to know the story behind Edward Nordenfelt and how he spends his last moment in Afghanistan.

I'm 5 mins into the 2nd episode & the amount of technical inaccuracies are blinding & I'm finding it really hard to concentrate...

If you're going to make a story like this, don't make our military look like buffoons by not even bothering to get the little details of the life of a soldier correct.

I was really looking forward to seeing this & have been bitterly disappointed.

This excellent mystery series shines a light on what our soldiers and their families face fighting overseas, and more importantly coming home. Totally gripping and heartbreaking in parts. Excellent acting from the leads and some newcomers I didn't know. Best series I have seen this year.
