Chrissie Hynde is taking a break from Pretenders duty to team up with an impressive slate of vocalists — including Lucinda Williams, Dave Gahan, Brandon Flowers, Debbie Harry, and Shirley Manson — for her fourth solo LP, Duets Special.
“I never thought about doing a duets album before,” Hynde says in a statement. “I think the idea came about in 2023. I was talking to Jörn, Rufus Wainwright’s husband, on the phone. I think we were recommending novels to each other, and for some reason, I said, ‘Hey, maybe Rufus and I should do something,...

The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde has announced a new duets album entitled Duets Special, arriving October 17th via Rhino.
The album sees Hynde performing a selection of covers and standards alongside a star-studded cast of fellow rock/pop vocalists including Rufus Wainwright, who sings with Hynde on the lead single — a take on the classic ballad “Always on My Mind.” Their world-class pipes shine over the moody and minimal instrumentation, with the rest of the album sharing this stripped-down vibe.
It was a conversation with Rufus Wainwright’s husband, Jörn, that inspired Hynde to collaborate with Rufus and eventually craft an entire album of duets.

Recent events on Days of Our Lives have been bittersweet to say the least. John Black succumbed to his major burns after saving the Versavix sepsis cure, which helped bring Bo back from the brink of death. Steve was very close to both heroes, and his grief for John was tempered by his happiness that Bo’s out of the woods. In real life, Stephen Nichols has a lot to be happy about without any soapy drama to weigh him down.
They Poured Their Hearts Out
Nichols recently shared joyous news on Instagram in the form of a montage video of his daughter’s wedding, set to the classic Elvis Presley tune, Can’t Help Falling in Love. He captioned it, “A sweet, magical day as my daughter Dylan married this good man, Alex. Pouring their hearts out in the presence of family and friends created a beautiful, loving atmosphere felt by all.

Return of the King: The Fall and Rise of Elvis Presley is Netflix's newest musical documentary, examining Elvis's tumultuous career and highlighting some of the songs he performed in his famous 1968 comeback special. The 1968 Elvis comeback special was a pivotal moment in his career, seeing him return to the stage after years of working in the film industry at the request of his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. Feeling dissatisfied with the lack of artistry in his movies, the special was a return to form for the iconic singer.
Though some of Elvis Presley's best movies, such as Viva Las Vegas, are considered classics, Elvis is known best in pop culture history for his influence on music. The 2022 biopic, Elvis, examines the toxic relationship between the star and Tom Parker, who pushed him toward his more commercial appeal. The music industry has been gifted with some of the most iconic talents of all time. Musicians and singers like Taylor Swift, Benson Boone, and Ariana Grande, among the current hotshots, are constantly growing and continuing to leave everyone baffled with their music-making chops.
At the same time, the industry has also been met with quite a lot of tragic losses as some really remarkably magical musical contributors devastatingly left this world a bit too soon. To say the least, the industry has indeed suffered truly greatly as these young talents were taken away from the world.
One of the most recent tragic deaths included that of Lucas Coly, who was reported to have passed away due to suicide. But while he is one, there have been multiple others who lost their lives at a very young age. Thus, to remember and pay tribute to them, here’s a list...

After two years of marriage, former WWE wrestler Nikki Garcia has filed for divorce from her husband Artem Chigvintsev, and seeks full legal and physical custody of their four-year-old son, Matteo.
The court documents were filed in Napa Valley, California, on Wednesday and Garcia cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for divorce. She also requested that spousal support for both parties be terminated and that Chigvintsev have visitation rights.
Chigvintsev was arrested two weeks ago at home on charges of corporal injury to spouse. Although neither Chigvintzev nor Garcia has addressed the arrest, Garcia is assumed to be the spouse in question. Chigvintzev was released on $25,000 bail.

Priscilla's music team made the controversial choice to exclude Elvis Presley songs from the biopic, resulting in an "out of period" music selection that is "very exciting." The decision not to include Elvis songs in Priscilla allows the film to divert focus away from Elvis himself and instead highlight the perspective of Priscilla as his ex-wife. By avoiding Elvis music, Priscilla had to find other cinematic means to convey Priscilla's perspective on Elvis, ultimately making the right decision and receiving rave reviews.

Britney Spears is back in the dance studio performing for her followers on Instagram.
This time with an assortment of crop tops she interchanges throughout the video. And with some musical numbers we have heard before.
What is clear is that Britney Spears must have an entire closet of crop tops. Between past Instagram dance workouts and this video, she has advertised at least over a half dozen of them.
In the Instagram video, she is seen dancing in white/gray colored workout shorts, and as the video changes music, so do her crop tops.
The first song is S.O.S by Indila and for that portion, she is rocking a bright red crop top. The second track is Britney’s song Get Naked, and for that popping track, she has a yellow-laced crop top that matches her hair.

Few filmmakers embrace artistic dichotomy like Baz Luhrmann. The Australian writer-director known for epic, ornate, long-gestating projects has become synonymous with both extravagant innovation and chaotic fluff. He is a walking, talking, directing state of creative contrast. “Six films into his career” might make it seem like he’s a relative newcomer, but Luhrmann’s been helming giant features since his 1996 tropical Ed Hardy rendition of Romeo + Juliet, which pales in scintillation to Elvis.
The King’s first big-screen biopic (no disrespect to John Carpenter and Kurt Russell’s 1979 TV movie) begins with a decadent gold, silver, crystal, and ruby rhinestone Warner Bros. logo bursting into frame. It garnered enough compulsory hoots and hollers in my screening to invade any Elvis skeptic with fear of future fondness. In one sense the logo is a tiny thing to note; in another it’s a perfect encapsulation of Luhrmann’s approach: extra.

A couple of days ago I presented my editor with the brilliant idea of ranking Elvis Presley‘s songs to honor his birthday on January 8. Being a Mississippi girl, and having spent almost 30 years of that time living in the town of his birth, I am aware of his huge catalogue of hits, but picking just 25 out of such a variety proved to be more challenging than I anticipated. It has also been a reminder of the enormous impact that this boy from a small town made across three entertainment mediums and across several genres of music.
Born January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Ms, Presley spent his first 13 years there, with his interest in music sparking from a guitar gifted to him, church hymns and local hillbilly singer Mississippi Slim. After the family moved to Memphis, Tn, in 1948, Presley was surrounded by many different styles of music, including country, hillbilly, gospel and blues,...

A tiny number of Bob Dylan fans scored a valuable collectible on Sunday when a three-disc collection of songs cut in 1970, including the legendary George Harrison sessions, was quietly put on sale via the U.K. store Badlands.
“This release is strictly limited to 1 unit per customer,” the store wrote when announcing Bob Dylan – 50th Anniversary Collection 1970. “Extremely limited release. It will sell out instantly … Thank you and best of luck.”
This collection was released in response to a European law stipulating that recordings enter the public domain 50 years after...

Crowns and sashes weren’t the only accessories on display Monday as 51 masked hopefuls assembled in Memphis to compete for the title of Miss USA.
Broadcast live on Fyi, the refreshingly self-aware pageant kicked off with some banter between hosts Akbar Gbaja-Biamila and Allie Laforce, who joked that Miss USA has been “dominating the news cycle” this week. “You can’t even turn on the news without hearing about Arizona, Michigan — all fierce competitors,” Laforce noted.

In our Q&a series Last Call, we get down to the bottom of every last thing with some of our favorite celebs - from the last thing they texted to the last thing they binge-watched. This week, Mexican singer Sofía Reyes takes our call.
While most of us were staying home the past few months binge-watching new TV shows or baking bread, Mexican singer-songwriter Sofía Reyes has been hard at work, recording not one but two new songs: "Cuando Estás Tu," which she released back in June, and her latest single, "Échalo Pa'Ca." To celebrate her new music, we chatted with Sofía about recording the tracks, the last piece of advice that changed her life, and more!
What was the last day recording "Échalo Pa'Ca" like?
I mean, recording the song took a couple months because I was waiting for Lalo [Ebratt] and Darell to record their vocals, and I couldn't be more excited!

Now this is a wedding we'd want to go to. Lily Allen and David Harbour confirmed they are officially Mr. and Mrs. in a low-key Instagram announcement on Wednesday, Sept. 9. The singer posted pictures of their Las Vegas wedding, which was obviously officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator. Two of the photos were of the newlyweds, while a third was of Lily eating a cheeseburger from In-n-Out in her approximately $4,000 Dior bridal gown. The 35-year-old kept things simple and captioned the photos with three heart emojis. In response, her now-husband commented with these lyrics from Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love": "...darling so it goes, some things...

U2’s only definitive plans at the moment involve overseeing their SiriusXM channel U2 X-Radio, which launched just last week. But when we spoke to the Edge and Adam Clayton about the channel, they informed us that a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1991 LP Achtung Baby and the landmark Zoo TV tour that followed wasn’t out of the question.

Chris Watson and Bri Stauss are still making beautiful music together because you can stream to their new album now! The inaugural champs of “The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart” recorded an entire album, “Chris & Bri,” in quarantine and dropped it Monday night after the finale on their website.
“Somehow, we made an album. In two months, in different states recording, in different studios, writing everything through FaceTime,” Bri told “Entertainment Tonight” (watch below). “It was insane. I was able to come to L.A. for two weekends before the lockdown happened and then the rest was finished through FaceTime, and it was just insane.”
A 10-track LP, the album consists of five originals and five covers that the couple performed on the show, which finished filming in February. See the track listing below.
1. “Found You”
2. “360”
3. “I Do”
4. “Your Touch”
5. “Heart Open”
6. “Beyond” (Leon Bridges)

The final four couples headed to Las Vegas for the semifinals on “The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart.” It was time to ratchet up the sin in sin city, and this quartet didn’t disappoint, for better or worse.
After two weeks of killer performances, Natascha and Ryan were probably doomed the second their date took place at a “trashing plant,” where they squashed large pieces of metal. Who comes up with these date ideas? Natascha moved in on poor Ryan, stating, “We have a good thing going.” A great tee-up for their disastrous performance.
Singing “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé, Natascha looked nervous and messed up when she handed Ryan the mic while he was still strumming his guitar. And she forgot her lyrics. Oy. Cutie pie Ryan can sing through a tornado and he knows how to play, and despite her confusion, he didn’t miss a beat.

‘Listen to Your Heart’ Episode 5 recap: Rudi and Matt splinter, but they’re far from the shallow now
Viva Las Vegas! The four remaining couples hit the road in the semifinals of “The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart.”
At the mansion, four large tour buses greeted the couples, who basked in the excitement of leaving town for the first time and having the chance to ride in style. The fact that each couple had ample alone time for fun, intimacy and connection was definitely a plus. Bri and Chris, the season’s genuine lovebirds and understated frontrunners, took cute photos while sharing a few tunes. Jamie and Trevor, continuing to grow deeper week after week, did the same. Trevor notably revealed “nothing good can come from being emotionally safe,” an admission that would carry much weight later in the episode.
However, things weren’t as bright for Rudi and Matt, who seemed to be emotionally at odds. Matt acknowledged his hope of finding a life partner, but...

“The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart” was inspired by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper‘s performance of “Shallow” at the Oscars. After four episodes, we’ll finally hear the song on the show. Props for the restraint.
One of the four remaining couples will perform the Oscar-winning ballad on Monday’s semifinals. Make your guesses now as to who it’d be. Bri and Chris‘ off-the-charts chemistry could give Gaga and BCoop’s a run for its money, but an Elvis Presley tune is also on the docket, so they could easily get assigned “Can’t Help Falling in Love” — especially since the Las Vegas-set episode features the pair serenading a newly married couple at A Little White Wedding Chapel with Ben E. King‘s “Stand By Me.”
Ed Sheeran and Beyonce‘s’ “Perfect” and a Lady Antebellum song will also be performed.

Monday’s episode of “The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart” dropped a bombshell (literally and figuratively) as 33-year-old pop singer Natascha of Los Angeles threatened to shake up the budding romance between Jamie and Trevor, who are quickly becoming the season’s unofficial star couple.
The first date card of the night went to Jamie, who whisked Trevor away to Venice Beach, Calif., joining forces to sing Little Big Town‘s “Girl Crush” which drew a few curious bystanders. During their date, Natascha introduced herself at the mansion, bringing a heavy dose of intimidation with her. Having been told “Trevor from ‘American Idol’” was part of the group, she proceeded to spill the tea that she is a friend of Trevor’s ex Sierra, who broke up with him a year and a half ago due to his alleged indiscretions.
When Jamie and Trevor returned to the mansion, it was time for the truth.

Since it started, Season 18 of The Voice has been shaping up to be a rough one for Blake Shelton. Few and far between have been the country contenders. He’s seemed to miss his usual sparring partner Adam Levine more now that his seat isn’t being filled by significant other Gwen Stefani. And Blake’s recruitment techniques have gotten increasingly lackluster. Take, for instance, his entreaty to three-chair-turn Micah Iverson Monday. Even though Blake knew so little about the auditioner’s emo-rock genre that he didn’t realize it was a genre — “Is that a thing?” the coach asked...

The Grammys took a fairly expansive sweep with this morning’s nominations for Best Musical Theater Album, The Motown sound, Rodgers & Hammerstein, the folk-rock music of Anaïs Mitchell, the reworked radio hits of Moulin Rouge! and Imogen Heap’s Harry Potter musical suites were all represented.
But four of the five nominations did not include composers, since the music was not original to the cast albums. In the case of several, the musical numbers consist largely of oldies, some reworked for contemporary settings. Anaïs Mitchell’s previous concept album for Hadestown was already Grammy-nominated upon its release in 2010.
The nominees:
Ain’t Too Proud: The Life And Times Of The Temptations is a rousing recreation of the Motown sound, focusing largely, but not exclusively, on the title group’s hits. Nominated were original cast members Saint Aubyn, Derrick Baskin, James Harkness, Jawan M. Jackson, Jeremy Pope and Ephraim Sykes and...

Grab a mop and some cleaning solution, folks, because your heart is about to melt into a soppy pile of mush all over the floor beneath you. Jennifer Lopez just shared a sweet video of her daughter and boyfriend Alex Rodriguez's two daughters singing together, and it proves just how harmonious their blended family really is.
In the adorable Instagram clip, J Lo's 10-year-old daughter, Emme, and ARod's two daughters, 14-year-old Natasha and 10-year-old Ella, sing Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" in unison while huddling together surrounded by Christmas lights. Natasha provides the accompaniment for their performance by playing the ukulele. Meanwhile, while filming the sweet clip, J Lo can be heard in the background reminding the trio to breathe throughout their mini concert like the proud stage mom she is.

Crazy Rich Asians is one of the best rom-coms of the Summer, so it's only fitting that the soundtrack is filled with tons of love songs. While there are quite a few bops in the movie, one of the sweetest tracks has to be the one that plays during Colin and Araminta's wedding in Singapore. As Araminta walks down the aisle, a beautiful cover of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" by singer Kina Grannis plays in the background. The quietly stunning song strikes the perfect, understated contrast to the outrageously luxurious nuptials of the two characters, and is enough to make you teary eyed.
Needless to say, you'll probably be hearing it a lot at weddings this year. Listen to the gorgeous cover ahead.

If you've seen Crazy Rich Asians, then chances are you've fallen just as hard in love with the film's soundtrack as Nick falls for Rachel. From a truly stunning cover of "Can't Help Falling in Love" to an upbeat love song from Miguel, the music featured deserves to be at the top of all your playlists. That's why you might be surprised to discover that the song in the rom-com's final, beautiful moments almost didn't make the cut.
At the end of the film, emotions are running high as Rachel (Constance Wu) considers her departure from Singapore, as her estranged boyfriend, Nick (Henry Golding), struggles with his relationship with his demanding mother, Eleanor (Michelle Yeoh). There's also the matter of Astrid (Gemma Chan) and her own romantic woes (which luckily get a lift in the adorable midcredits scene). Director John M. Chu had the perfect song in mind to capture...

Britney Spears just did something she's wanted to do for a long time.
Inspired by Madonna's soulful "Toxic" tribute on Friday, the pop superstar kicked off her birthday by belting out the first few lines of Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love" at her home in Thousand Oaks, California. While showing off her trademark pipes, Spears wore her long blonde locks in a chic topknot that complemented her backless lace mini dress. She shared the 360-degree singing clip Saturday night, adding that she felt very moved by Madonna's words.
"I was really inspired yesterday by @madonna's post," wrote the "Piece of Me" performer. "She's right… silence = death! These words really struck with me, because they are so true."
The Grammy winner continued, noting that the circular solo performance has been something she's "always wanted to do."
