Acclaimed actor Robert De Niro has injured his leg at his on-location home in Oklahoma. The Goodfellas star was in the state to film Martin Scorsese's new movie Killers of the Flower Moon when the incident occurred. The injury is said to involve the quadricep muscle, and will not affect filming, with De Niro not scheduled to film again for another three weeks. Robert De Niro said this about the painful injury.

"I tore my quad somehow ... [It was] just a simple stepping over something and I just went down. The pain was excruciating and now I have to get it fixed. But it happens, especially when you get older, you have to be prepared for unexpected things."

De Niro went onto say that his role in the movie is secondary. And that he doesn't really have much to do in terms of action.

"I don't move around a lot, thank God.

Despite Graham Nash’s words at the conclusion of Robin Lutz’s documentary M.C. Escher: Journey to Infinity stating that the world is destined to reappreciate the artist’s work, the fact that it’s taken three years for the film to become available in the United States seemingly proves the opposite. As the pop culture footage during the end credits reveals, however, it might just be that Nash was underestimating how important Escher’s art already was. From Labyrinth to Inception and tattoos to YouTube make-up tutorials, the Dutchman’s optical illusions and tessellations have been captivating and inspiring future generations for a century now. Just because his prints aren’t hanging next to Picassos doesn’t mean they’re any less ubiquitous or awe-inspiring. Like all great graphic design, their conceptual ingenuity transcends aesthetic categorization.

Endeavor Content has signed a multi-year partnership agreement with South Korean production company Bon Factory to develop English and Korean-language TV series.

The idea is to develop original series with global and Korean talent, as well as adaptations of both English-language formats in Korea and vice versa.

Bon Factory, led by Ken Oh, produces Korean series such as You Are Beautiful, Master’s Sun, She Was Beautiful, What Happened to Ms. Kim, the Secretary, and Encounter. Since 2019, the company has become a part of Cj Enm.

Endeavor Content has struck a multi-year deal with Cj Enm-backed South Korean production outfit Bon Factory, with an eye on developing television series in both English and Korean languages for the global market.

Resulting series will be produced with both global and Korean talent, and the partners will also look to cross-pollinate formats in each market. Endeavor Content previously inked a similar deal with Exile Content Studio in Latin America.

Led by Ken Oh and Suk-Hwan Moon, Bon Factory’s production credits include the series “You Are Beautiful,” “Master’s Sun,” “She Was Beautiful,” “What Happened to Ms. Kim,” “The Secretary” and “Encounter.” Korean powerhouse Cj Enm, which had a major hit on its hands with Bong Joon-ho’s Oscar winner “Parasite,” acquired the company in 2019.

Playwright, screenwriter and Oscar-nominee Bernard Slade has died at the age of 89 in his Beverly Hills home due to complications from Lewy body dementia, according to Broadway World.

Slade is known for creating “The Partridge Family” television series in 1970, and for writing the Broadway show “Same Time, Next Year” in 1975. He later adapted the play into a feature film and wrote the screenplay for the feature film version in 1978. The story follows a man and a woman in separate marriages who have a one-night affair and end up meeting in the same place every year on the anniversary of that night.

Sony Pictures Classics has acquired all rights in North America, France, India and several other Asian countries to “After the Wedding,” starring Julianne Moore and Michelle Williams.

Directed by Bart Freundlich, “After the Wedding” is an adaptation of Susanne Bier’s Academy Award-nominated Danish film of the same name. It premiered as an opening night selection at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.

Williams portrays a woman who has dedicated her life to working with the children in an orphanage in Calcutta. She travels to New York to meet her benefactor, played by Moore.

Sony Classics is planning an August release. The distributor released “Still Alice,” for which Moore received a best actress Academy Award. The news was first reported by Deadline.

Korean content channel tvN is expanding its local feed in Indonesia. Its film channel tvN Movies has added new carriage deals in the same territory.

Operated by Cj E&M Hk, tvN Asia has launched a local feed with over 700 hours of new programming per year. The Indonesia feed presents two express drama belts, offering subscribers shows within 24 hours of their original Korean telecast.

New shows include “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” “100 Days My Prince,” “Encounter,” “The Crowned Clown,” “Touch Your Heart,” and “Her Private Life.” Upcoming express titles include crime series “Voice 3” and romantic comedy “WWW.” The show will be directed by Jung Ji-hyun, co-director of “Mr. Sunshine” and written by screenwriter Kwon Eun-sol.

Both tvN and tvN Movies were this month launched on Indonesia’s leading pay-tv platforms: Dth satellite service Mnc Vision, fiber-to-the-home broadband/Iptv service Mnc Play, and fledgling Ott service Mnc Now.

The first episode aired with high viewership with the second being significantly higher than the previous. It is believed the powerhouse main leads of Song Hye-kyo and Park Bo-gum are the primary reason why. As I stated to our editor here at Cinelinx, I was mid process writing an article about how great the music is in my favorite franchise. The music adds so much emotion to everything, and it is so well done that I’d even dare to compare it to the best soundtracks of movies. The music in Mgs alone allows us to argue that gaming as an art form is just as good, if not better, than other mediums such as movies. But that’s all up to opinion.

Showerman, best known for his role as ‘George’ in Disney’s George of the Jungle 2 is an action and sci-fi vet whose credits include TVs Supergirl, playing Tor, Agents of S.H.I.E.Ld, Lady Bug, Big Game and the upcoming Encounter with Luke Hemsworth. Cheyenne Buchanan is an actor, writer, and fight choreographer whose credits include The Frozen Ground with Nicolas Cage and John Cusack, Frost Bite, and the upcoming A Violent Man from Matthew Berkowitz. There’s a major search for talent for YouTube’s adaptation of “The Karate Kid.” Casting directors are filling roles for actors that are a range of ages, as young as nine, and up to mid-forties. January Curry is casting for a few featured and background roles in Mario van Peebles’ “Superstition.” Talent is expected to start work at the very end of the month. An independently produced web series called, “We’re Pretty Terrible” is seeking teens for featured roles. It’s good pay, and an excellent opportunity for the 13–15-year-old set. For those in other parts of Georgia, there are some reshoots going on of “Encounter,” a sci-fi drama starring Luke Hemsworth and Anna Hutchison.

Luke Hemsworth has joined the cast of Paul J. Salamoff’s sci-fi drama Encounter, which is currently shooting in Atlanta, Georgia.

The first feature from Amy Bailey’s Georgia-based Beyond Casual Media centres on a group of friends who discover a living creature in a crashed spacecraft.

When they bring the otherworldly being home, they soon discover that it holds even greater secrets than they could imagine.

With the government on their tail, time is running out to ascertain the alien’s true intentions.

Salamoff makes his feature directorial debut after serving as a production executive for Bold Films and Rat Bastard Productions. Lightning Entertainment handles worldwide sales.
