Que Mal Eu Fiz a Deus? 2

The humour obviously might be not everybodys cup of tea, but I love the s.o.h. of french comedies and especially of this director. In this sequel the actors are really hilarous again. Of course it is not as great as the very successful first part from five years ago but it is definitely enjoyale enough to be worth watching for everybody who likes french comedies. It gives you a lot of good laughs. Get some popcorn and have fun with the situation comedy and the running gags full of political incorrectness.

Sooo sad. I really liked the first film but part 2 is not worth watching. Maybe it is better if you are from France yourself?!

"Serial (Bad) Weddings 2" is a Comedy movie and the sequel of "Serial (Bad) Weddings" of 2014, in which we watch the Verneuil family getting into a new adventure since all of their daughters decide to leave France with their spouses.

Since I had already watched the first movie I knew what to expect from the second. I enjoyed it because it had many funny scenes and a good combination of actors/actresses that helped it become interesting despite its simple plot. The direction which was made again by Philippe de Chauveron was very good and he followed the same successful steps of the first movie. For one more time the interpretation of Christian Clavier who played as Claude Verneuil was very good in many moments he was hilarious. Some other interpretations that have to be mentioned were Pascal N'Zonzi's who played as André Kofi, Frédéric Chau's who played as Chao Ling and Noom Diawara's who played as Charles Kofi. In conclusion, I have to say that "Serial (Bad) Weddings 2" is a nice comedy movie and I highly recommend everyone to watch it because I am sure that you will have a great time and you will laugh a lot.

This is the second film in a French series of three up till now, made 2014, 2019 and 2022.

The center of the film is the couple Claude and Marie Vernueil (played by Christian Clavier and Chantal Lauby) a Catholic pair. As the first (and better) film showed, the four daughters of the couple has been married with four men from different places. From Algeria, Israel, China and the Ivory Coast. Now the marriages are going okay, but around the same time, it seems that the four men wants to go home to start their own business. Not that satisfied with life in France. The wifes agree, and soon the Verneuils are told. Is that a goodbye to the four couples and their grand children?

The first part of the movie is slow and not that funny. But the last part is better. The Verneuils will try to make the big family stay together in France.

Having watched the first movie I decided to give a chance to the second bearing in mind that often the continuation of a successful recipe does not live up to the original movie. This observation was confirmed although the second film is still very funny. I have to admit that it is full of commonplaces and cliches to an annoying degree. The truth is that you laugh and that is the aim of a comedy. There is no originality in the jokes, they are as commonplace and trite as you could imagine but I found myself laughing most of the time.

The plot is simple. The bourgeois elderly couple strives to keep their four daughters in France while the latter under the instigation of their foreign husbands seek to pursue their luck outside their country to destinations linked with the origins of their spouses. The lengths to which the paterfamilias and his wife go to incite their daughters and grooms to remain in France inspire the main comedy effect of the film.

It is important to note that the scenario is very apt concerning current affairs in French society so that anyone closely following developments in French social reality will recognize imediately that important and "heavy" matters dividing national opinion such as immigration, integration and tolerance towards Muslim practices or legalization of homosexual marriage are treated in a lighter vein and produce ample laughter despite their insoluble and often tragic aspects in real life.

I recommend this movie which without being a masterpiece will appeal to those with a vivid interest in the dilemmas of postmodern multicultural society who are ready to put aside for a moment the often tragic connotations of those matters and accept the comic element which is inherent even in the most serious aspects of human social coexistence.
