The movie doesn't make any sense from beginning to end. The script is crazy bad. At the beginning there was a little bit of action. But every single thing was so obvious. I have to say I like the general idea of the movie I mean that's why I bought it. But the execution was really sad... I really think with a slightly better script and little bit more scientific backup the movie could be a average movie. And also I have to say the visual effects where incredibly bad and unfortunately there were too many of them... also that the ice storm has a sound like a monster in a horror movie I mean come on it's a storm not a monster.
But I have to say are probably worse movies out there so I won't give this movie a 1 Star Review rather a 3 star one.

This film is literally awful. It follows exactly the subplot of Day after tomorrow. It is not just that the plot follows day after tomorrow, a large amount of the dialogue does as well! Secondly be careful of reviews that have a first name and then a dash "-" and numbers. These are "IMDb pro" accounts where the creation date is scrambled (hence a reviewer whose entire activity is a review of this film yet an account creation date of 8 months ago) and ability to up vote their own reviews multiple times.
The shill reviews amount to a rip-off and people noting them are one of the reasons why IMDb removed its comments section when people started noticing these patterns.

Film shooting was in southern Alaska, probably in April, not December, as represented.
Snowflakes in the film are large and wet. Thats's warm weather snow. Drastic cold, which is supposedly threatening, lack fluid and is powdery.
No one is properly dressed for the hyper cold, being outside at -40, unprotected, freezes skin, yet these jerks are without gloves and face coverings, etc. As if it was 40 above.
Hey! This is life and death stuff! Hero! Heroine! Mother! Father! Boyfriend! Girlfriend, a coming of age film. A saving the world film.
The writers didn't know what the movie was supposed to be, so they punted...all the way. They should have their pen and paper revoked, permanently.
The writers and actors must have thought it was better to get face time on camera, rather than a sense of reality, on the most basic level of moviemaking.
The father, never having flown a helicopter, pilots through weather so rough, that even a professional pilot would struggle with. At 40 below, one has face covering, gloves, mittens, mukluks, parkas.
Amateurish & unbelievable on every level. Imagine having your tombstone carved with "cast member in "Cold Zone," for the world to see!

As a Canadian the Hollywood idea of cold is so stupid. People with their coat opened, no gloves, mittens, no snow pants, or even a scarf over their face. And what about their feet?
Plus the cold weather can brake the windows !!!

.... and that it is what it's like going through when watching this.
I know we are currently suffering extremes of weather, which the producers of this film are exploiting, but this is a bit over the top, the "special effects" are not so special, they keep repeating a satellite image of a white cloud with a hole in it, exactly the same - no movement, repeating it several times throughout the film, one scene involves the main hero burying himself in a snow hole to survive being frozen, with a candle which burns the oxygen in the hole uo, so either he should have frozen to death or died of lack of oxygen, but he was not even that cold when he came out.
The acting is poor, the dialogue terrible, the emotional scenes look put on, which of course they are (real actors make the emotional scenes look real), continuity is not good, scenes where there are frozen people show the area frost free, it would take a while to defrost! And despite recently been frozen, the roads have wet puddles, not ice!
The music is poor, and sound effects are annoying.
I am looking for the good points, maybe the story is good, but the screenplay has ruined it.
Poor, interesting, but poor. Like a disaster movie from the 70's but without star actors.

- CuriosidadesThis is set in Alaska USA, but at 15:55 the cyclists pass a sign showing Pemberton Health Centre. The Canadian spelling of "Center" tells us where the outside locations were filmed.
