I'm telling ya my experience watching this anime was truly amazing, I don't know what's about this anime but i just couldn't resist watching episodes next to next even manga. I am really delighted by this anime.
This anime Had the potential to offer a unique and compelling story. However, what could have been an intriguing exploration of personal growth, revenge, and self-discovery turned out to be a shallow and disappointing experience. This criticising review aims to shed light on the numerous shortcomings and missed opportunities that plague this series.
First and foremost, the show's protagonist, Masamune Makabe, is an utterly unlikable and one-dimensional character. While revenge narratives often present complex anti-heroes, Masamune comes across as nothing more than a superficial caricature of vengeance. His entire motivation revolves around getting back at a girl who rejected him in his childhood due to his weight. This shallow objective does not provide enough substance to sustain the story, making it difficult for viewers to invest in his journey.
The supporting characters in Masamune-kun's Revenge fare no better. Aki Adagaki, the primary target of Masamune's revenge, is portrayed as a cold-hearted, arrogant girl with very little depth beyond her initial impression. The romantic tension between Masamune and Aki lacks any genuine chemistry or emotional resonance, leaving the viewer disinterested in their relationship. The ensemble cast, including side characters like Yoshino Koiwai and Neko Fujinomiya, fail to receive adequate development, making their involvement in the narrative feel forced and unnecessary.
The series suffers from a severe lack of narrative progression. The story revolves around Masamune's attempts to win Aki's heart, but it becomes a repetitive cycle of failed attempts, comedic misunderstandings, and contrived situations. The plot fails to explore the characters' growth or offer any meaningful introspection. Instead, it relies on overused tropes and fan service to keep viewers engaged, resulting in a narrative that feels stale and predictable.
Furthermore, the humor in Masamune-kun's Revenge often falls flat. The attempts at comedy rely heavily on cheap gags, slapstick humor, and the sexualization of characters, which undermines any potential for genuine comedic moments. The reliance on such crass humor further detracts from the show's supposed focus on revenge and personal growth.
Visually, the anime is unremarkable. While the character designs are decent, the animation quality lacks consistency, resulting in stiff and uninspiring action sequences. The background art and overall aesthetic fail to leave a lasting impression, making the series visually forgettable.
In conclusion, Masamune-kun's Revenge is a disappointingly shallow anime that fails to live up to its potential. The lackluster characters, stagnant plot, and reliance on tired tropes make for an uninspired viewing experience. This series fails to deliver on its promise of a compelling revenge story, leaving audiences with an empty and unfulfilling narrative. It's best to steer clear of this anime and seek out more engaging and thought-provoking series instead.

The main motive is never succeed and this story is not complete. So, feel the anime is incomplete.
Hm... Masamune Kuns Revenge. This is a classic romance anime with an interesting set up. As you'll see from the summery this show is about a boy who basically used to be chubby and picked on by this girl and now that he's hot and in high school wants to get his revenge. He wants to set her up as his girlfriend and then brake her heart. I think you can kind of get what happens. The cool thing about this anime is that the characters and comedy make it a worth while show! For twelve episodes they make a very cute collection of character development. I appreciate how Masamune himself isn't the usual good looking classic girly anime main boy. He has an awkward and caring side I appreciated. Over all I say go ahead and watch it! It's twelve episodes subbed and dubbed, and great for a binge watching day. Though it won't be your favorite I think you will enjoy it.
UPDATE: The story is finally covered till the end with season 2. My original toughts about it do not change: Very nice.
I think this is a very well executed rom com, the way how the characters interact is not trivial and when you start watching you can not really stop.
The characters are in average not very clever yes, but keep in mind this is a rom-com not a drama or an opera, surely you will find Yoshino the most attractive as always one step above others.
There is only one thing which left me odd: sometimes Masamune ends up using special made-up sentences with girls and it's not clear to me the author point of view, if they are considered "good" or "bad", because sometimes they are not really good sentences and I have the feeling maybe the author think they are. I am neither Japanese nor American but I have been in UK/US and I don't think a girl would appreciate all of them.
