Upon its initial television airing in France on Arte in 2017, was given the title "7 Journées", a direct translation of the original title. However when it was rebroadcast in 2020, it was retitled "Les Sirènes de Levanzo" (meaning "The Mermaids of Levanzo").

"When Rolando asked me if I had any difficulty shooting full nude scenes, I was honest, in fact I was a little bit in trouble, there would have been no point in lying because it would have been obvious. During the erotic scenes the very small crew was so discreet, close-knit and attentive that everything went smoothly." Barela also revealed that the most explicit part of the sex scenes were cut and only a quarter of what they shot ended up in the film.

Rolando Colla summoned me to Paris to "test" and audition with 5 candidate actors. It was essential to find the right chemistry with the male lead, and I immolated myself to the cause... I spent 2 days in Paris kissing 5 men and figuring out with whom there was more chemistry. I don't know, is there anything better to do in Paris?
