Because stripping naked on national TV comes with obvious risk of people online making comments about your body, contestants have to take a psychological test during the audition process to make sure they can handle the response afterwards.
Chooser Tracy Kiss revealed in an interview with the Daily Star that the temperature in the studio was "very cold" to prevent the naked men from developing erections. She said she had asked: "'Can't we see them with erections so I know what I'm dealing with?' and they told me they weren't allowed."
The complete lack of pubic hair on virtually all of the women participating (and many of the men) occasioned much comment from viewers online. Comedian Robert Webb even said: "Last night, wife and I watched Naked Attraction and concluded we are the only people left in Britain with pubes but no tats (tattoos). Or we're just old."
Contestants are chaperoned backstage by members of the production team to ensure the pickers and their potential dates do not meet before and between filming each episode. While some contestants elect to wear robes, others stay naked while walking around. So production members are usually the same gender as the contestant.
Each episode takes up to 12 hours to film and the contestants are naked for most of that time. However, if you're "the picker" you're only naked for about 15 minutes.
