It might be because I'm used to previous Batman animated films feeling a little more film-like, but as I was watching this I couldn't help but feel that it was just a long version of a Saturday morning Batman cartoon for kids. The story had too many convenient plot points that just happened to work out, and there were a few too many cheesy on liners and characters saying things like "as if". It wasn't terrible, and had some interesting elements to it, but at the end of the day it's not a Batman animated film I can recommend for the more "mature" viewer. It would be fine for kids though. If I had to find a positive, it would be that the voice acting was well done. Also the animation was decent.
Thinking it was the third entry in a Batman mecha trilogy made by the same people behind the first two atrocities, I started to notice a strange shift once the villains (Penguin and Freeze) appeared. Even with childish humor, they managed to keep a minimal sense of coherence and ended up more entertaining than the heroes themselves.
What surprised me was that this contrast lasted through most of the film, and even when the heroes' and villains' plots finally merged in the third act. Despite the overall air of "movie aimed at kids who still watch Paw Patrol," it never became utterly unbearable, aside from a few dreadful Robin lines and some silly jokes. So, thanks to the decent action and, above all, the fact that the childish humor didn't ruin the villains, the movie remained watchable.
A watchable Butch Lukic movie? Nope. As soon as the credits rolled, I realized the dreadful Lukic wasn't involved. At the same time, I understood why it wasn't enough to make it actually good: his replacement was Curt Geda, as capable of atrocities (Mystery of the Batwoman, Superman: Brainiac Attacks). This time, however, he leaned closer to his better side (Return of the Joker).

This is not under the red hood or mask of the phantasm by any means, but i was so surprised how much the kids had liked it. We had to watch over some kids for a few hours and this movie made them really happy. I don't get it why it has so many negative voting, this isn't for mature audience, but it's brilliantly done for the little ones.. When comparing this to the new titans show, this becomes a piece of art and what kids shows and animated movie should really look like. The voice acting it's better than on the last batman animated movies, except the killing joke, and i enjoyed a lighter Damian Wayne for a change. I hope that this series continues and that we'll be able to see superman and wonder woman join this crusade after all, and since the batgirl was sort of introduced in the preview batman unlimited movie, maybe we'll have more of her as well. They left room for many exploring options from now on (such as Tim drake leading the titans), this has the chance to became a very good DC universe for children.
This third and likely final movie in the Batman Unlimited franchise takes the over the top'ness to a whole new level as we see DC channel the spirit of Pacific Rim.
Mr Freeze teams with Penguin, Chemo, Clayface, Killer Croc & Bane in a plot to freeze the world and in doing so make themselves giant size. So what is a Batman to do? Combat them in a giant robot suit, duh!
Once again this kiddie friendly effort is harmless but 50 shades of dumb. Still within the futuristic setting, with moderately tweaked characters and a script penned by kindergarteners.
Mechs vs Mutants isn't bad, it's just aimed at a certain demographic and I'm certainly not it.
The Good:
Buzz the penguin
The Bad:
Just plain stupid in places (A lot of them)
Still don't like the future setting
Things I Learnt From This Movie:
Chemo is one of the most unfortunately named characters in media history
Bane vs Killer Croc > Batman vs Superman
The fight choreographer was definetly a wrestling fan

This Batman Unlimited series is going from mediocre to bad and from there to worse. Batman, the greatest detective, the smart, the ultimate human has turn into a Gundam fighter. I mean, what went wrong? What's with all this mech? Sure innovation was always part of Batman's stories but Bats was always there in center of this like a flashing bacon. As I am writing this the final battle takes place and I don't care the least. I am sad with all of this. My only hope is that it was created with the sole purpose of selling toys and is not actually where the Batman's franchise is heading.
