How would you feel, if one day there was a chance you could just spontaneously pop, that's how life is for Mara and her fellow students.
I really did enjoy it, talk about a crazy combination of genres, it's shocking, funny, romantic, goofy, but there's also a bit of depth to it, I really liked how it concluded, it delivered some knockout emotional blows.
A definite 80's high school vibe feel about it, it's well presented, nicely made, and well acted.
Ambiguity can sometimes be irritating in films, it wasn't here, the point of the film was the effect on Mara, not the actual spontaneous popping off.
How good was as Katherine Langford as Mara, I thought she was excellent as the lead, I loved how natural she was, and just how the character behaved.
Enjoyed it, 8/10.

Ya RomComs are something I avoid at all costs. Theyre always the same and never ever anything that would play out in real life so why give you or your partner unrealistic expectations watching something that is just going to set you up for failure.. This movie SPONTANOUSly turned out to be something completely unexpected - REALLY Good and really funny. The romance part is underplayed and mostly the setup as an after thought for the perfectly timed witty one liners that are delivered spot on with real chemistry you can feel between the main actors. The movie is just a take on the traditional coming of age story and how everything when youre young seems like the end or the beginning of the world and with each death of a young persons dream life its never the end but just the transition to another dream of how life will play out.. I dont know if that makes sense to anyone reading this but it was a really great movie witty well acted and moves along at a good pace. It was this directors debut and I cant wait for more projects in the future to be made by them.. Great job
I liked it. A welcome tongue in cheek high school comedy-ish (a black comedy, moreso) about seniors Mara and Dylan, who finally begin to date after their classmates randomly begin to explode. It sounds like a horror feature, but it's really not. It's more like a nod to the old hippie song "Live for Today," because the kids aren't promised a tomorrow, so why not do what you want today? I say kids, but the rest of the senior class is mere window dressing; our story is firmly about our featured couple, luckily played with great fervor by Katherine Langford and Charlie Plummer. We're not looking at great depth, but it's a sweet romance, mildly thought provoking, and nakedly honest look at young adult awakening, and life is general. We could all remember to enjoy more of today, and worry less about tomorrow. Recommended.
Make today the first day of the rest of your life, live every day as if it's your last, seize the day, seize the moment - but does it really matter or make any difference and can you really do anything about it. That all depends on your nihilistic tendencies which, after watching this, may have become increasingly acute.
It had me in horror. It had me laughing out loud. It had me crying softly. It had me in awe. I felt for the main charaters. And that's what I want from a movie. I loved it. I can't compare it to any other movie. And that's good in my opinion. Go watch and enjoy.
And if you think this is the worst movie of the year, or your life, you should probably watch more movies.
