The First American

A very well put together documentary that highlights some of the most important moments of George Washington's life as well as the key periods of time that gave birth to our nation. I was very impressed with all the information provided & only held back from giving it 10 out of 10 stars because there were a few things I wish had been addressed that weren't.

...For all Americans! This was a wonderful telling of George Washington; his time as a farmer, as a General and as out 1st President. A wonderful documentary.

I was not even gonna watch this because of Newt Gingrich and his wife who I find despicable but I overcome my initial reaction and watched it and found it Informative.

Love the research and facts that lead to the movie reenactments. The facts add to the credibility of this movie. Learned so much about Washington. For a general to freely give up his power after winning a war is not what happened in other revolutions. And then he turned down a 3rd term is so honorable. What a great country they started almost 259 years ago. He made many sacrifices that are well beyond anything I could have done.

I feel fortunate and blessed to be born in America. I've had an opportunity to travel the globe and see other countries and observe their values and their cultures. I've also been witness to those people there that have a curiosity about America and what makes it different.

I believe we can look to our founding Fathers and especially George Washington for the Genesis of that legacy

If we examine his actions, his deeds and his beliefs in the worthiness of the Cause, we can see what motivated this man and what gave him belief to pursue and act with the singleness of mind as a great Leader; a General and a great President.

I applaud Newt & Callista and their Foundation for bringing this message to the screen.

I'm a proud American, a History Major and a student of American history. I've seen many documentaries about our history. This by far, exceeds all others.

I particularly like the revelation about Billie Lee, his assistant, this I never knew.

In the telling of the story, it seems apparent that all the elements that created George Washington to become the man he was, were by design, those elements that created him to be the Leader that American needed at a great crossroads in our American History.

He is not to be forgotten!
