Kanithan (U) TAMIL ------- my Rating: ★★★ WEAK SCREENPLAY

STRENGTHS:- * Drums Sivamani's powerful background score and Yappa song... * Atharva's rocking performance..... * Concept was different

WEAKNESSES:- * Weak Screenplay at many places.... * Catherine teresa doesn't know acting.... * Songs were boring and useless at few places.....

FINAL VERDICT:- * Overall... It is a clean one time watch movie, you can't say it is a thriller but trys, you will see many AR murugadoss touch in handling scenes but debutant director fails little bit in execution. First 25 mins is waste of time then movie starts and after interval it was very grippy, song comes like a speed breaker and spoils the exact flow.... this movie could be named as KO-2. Go for one time and enjoy.

Kanithan is an action thriller that throws light on the issue of fake certificates. If you can survive the first 30 minutes of this movie, then you gonna like a fast paced slick thriller with some good moments.

The movie starts on a slow note with the routine comedy, songs and love (oof, totally terrible). The movie turns into a thriller when Goutham (Atharvaa) got arrested for forgery in documents which was submitted in banks for loans. Sooner, Goutham teams up with his father's friend, a constable and two friends to resolve the mystery.

The first 30 minutes are terrible with unwanted songs and scenes which will be accelerated with a crispy screenplay and the villain- hero brain battle. The action was quite nice with Atharvaa's performance was top notch. The antagonist Tarun Arora was good in his role but can see the traces of Vidyut (Thuppakki fame).

Catherine Tresa (OMG), she looked very gorgeous and was an eye candy and as usual she was just there for songs...

Sivamani should stop composing music and bgm for movies. The music department was a total letdown and was irritating at most times. The songs and related sequence were the speed breakers of Kanithan.

A nice thriller spoiled by wrong execution and narration

This movie definitely entertaining and has all the Hollywood elements coupled with an interesting premise .The film talks about a a reporter who gets arrested realizes that he is a victim of a fake degree certificate racket, and decides to track down a highly organised but dangerous network responsible for misusing his identity. Soon he find himself embroiled in political conspiracy.

The hero takes on the fake documents mafia, after being framed along with few other youngsters. He takes a mission to getting to the root cause of the problem and plotting his way backwards. The gang basically produces fake documents, based on original documents belonging to proper individuals, and delivers them to those who are in need of a shortcut to a good living. They also use these fake documents to avail loans from banks. These guys use fool-proof technology to go about their business and earn fat sums of money. While those who make use of these fake certificates settle down with jobs across various departments, many deserving youngsters don't get their due. The lead hero then engages in a cat and mouse game to eradicate the network once and for all . The action scenes and clever plot will keep at the edge of yr seats . There is a slight sci-fi feel here and there with some special effects. Camera-work is excellent . U can see some similarities to the vijay starrer "Thupakki" as the directors of this movie , TN santosh was an assistant director to AR Murugadoss . TN santosh shows extreme potential in his debut movie .

It is really amazing movie, i think the director has done lot of research regarding ongoing issues with fake certificates and identity thefts .The Film takes on a premise which is rarely touched upon and develops it into the thriller maybe baffling to some and nevertheless and will be a lesson for those who value the protection of personal details and job seekers who pass on their details to employment agencies.Overall the movie shows the importance of identity protection and the social ills of such scams.
