Kindly old family friend, Professor Schaeffer, has just been revealed to be a crazed cultist, and now, dressed in his sacred robes, he threatens the beautiful, helpless reporter with a ceremonial dagger] MMPPH! MMPPH!
- Professor Schaeffer: I am SO glad it was YOU who found our sacramental artifacts! it will be a PLEASURE to perform the rites on someone as EXQUISITE as YOU!
- Paula Perillo: [struggling] MMPPH! MMPPH!
- [while Jimmy is talking to Paula on the phone, Veronica trips, falls and screams]
- Jimmy Smith: Well, I've got to go before Veronica kills herself. I'll swing by your place after work to compare notes.

- Jimmy Smith: All right.
- [Veronica groans]
- Jimmy Smith: [to Veronica] There's a hole over there! You all right?

- Tony Carleoni: This... this is unacceptable. I've suspected traitors in our ranks for some time now. This man...
- [cocks a shotgun and points at one of his henchmen]
- Tony Carleoni: This man is not the problem. The problems are much worse. We've run out of time. Micelli's death has created a window of opportunity and the Serpent Cult is rising up to fill that void. We lost another two men last night. I *won't* lose any more. They are massing an army and I'm not about to stand by and let them take our streets! This is my city. It's time we take it back. We're going straight into the snake's lair and smoke him out!... Then we cut off their heads.
- [discussing the Serpent Cult]
- Tony Carleoni: You got a location?
- Detective: They have a training facility on West and Main. It's in the Warehouse District, but there's a lot of action going on there tonight.
- Tony Carleoni: Well, then I suggest you spend tonight on the East Side. One more thing - Perillo's daughter has become a liability. She knows too much. No matter what happens tonight... she gets silenced - permanently.
- Detective: I'll take care of it.
- [after Paula, Jimmy, Veronica and Carleoni and his men vanquished the Serpent Cult]

- [ungags her, begins untying her ropes]

- Paula Peril: There's no time to lose!-- What you found at the construction site's more dangerous than you can possibly imagine! These guys are Naztec Serpent Cultists-- fanatics! They're organizing-- they're going to try and raise an army of the undead! We've got to move before they can act!
- Jimmy Smith: [Examines Paula's outfit, which has been completely shredded by the cultist priest's ceremonial dagger!] Look, that's-- that's a great idea, but first, you should probably change...
- Paula Peril: [Looks down at her clothes] Yeah!
