It started off with a weak protagonist so seemed kind of boring in the beginning but really delivers his worth by fighting all of them, surviving and solving the mystery.
Starting 4 episodes narrates as if the anime is all about action with very weak action scene but the story gets interesting when the blame game starts.
Last episode final scene was a game changer and has me up for season 2.
Also, I love the little romance with action in the anime. Hope to see more action and mystery from it in the future seasons.
Seems like there is enough material for season 2 so can't wait for season 2!

Excellent story and well drawn. Starts out ok but then goes in a direction I could have not foreseen. The animation is done really well also. This is basically the first half of the book series. Where it ends is ok but leaves you ready for the rest. Its been like 4 years at this point. I can only hope they finish the series some day...
The main plot of the anime centers around the "Rising Daemon Lord" trope which is nothing new (but often entertaining) followed by a mystery.
The unique art, regional/cultural backdrop (Central / South American, Pre-Colombian), protagonists and their limitations mix pretty well with the storytelling creating an interesting world.
However the final minutes of episode 12 guts the series, killing the investment in the characters with a botched hook/ending.
All in all it's the animation and part of the story makes it a worthwhile background watch if you've got empty space in your catalog and I'd watch a 2nd season just to see if they could redeem the horrible ending.

Pros:
- Atypical local / backdrop.
- Good animation.
- Above average English Dubbing.
- Very limited and subtle "Fan Service".
Cons:
- No 2nd season.
- Predictable.
- Not a fan of the Assassins voice (English Dubbing).
- Storytelling could be better.
- Dark horse character's outfit is ridiculous.
- Terrible ending "hook".
My first impression of the first few episodes was "well this isn't bad, its not great. Seems kinda typical, hopefully it'll get better if i continue" And boy does it get better, make sure you give this a chance because everything after episode 5 has you in constant thought. Its by far one of the best suspense and questioning shows I've seen, ever. This show was literally on my mind all day, thinking about who could be the "seventh"?! Now as the show goes, the story seems pretty typical which I believe is why so many drop this before it gets to the part that makes it worth watching. There's 6 heroes that gain a goddesses blessing(basically) for being the best fighters in the world that will all join together to kill the demon god & save humanity, BUT when all are heroes finally meet up theirs 7 of them!? And thats where the real story of this show begins, deception, suspicion, doubt, who can you trust who can't you trust? Literally every episode has you thinking "well maybe its them" and then the next episode your thinking "no it has to be them!" and so on, its one of the best shows that have completely lost me in thought like this. The artwork and animation is beautiful, everything from the character designs & the unique abilities each hero has to the amazing scenery its all very nice and you get sucked into that world. The music wasn't bad by any means, i enjoyed it all very much but it felt more like theatrical music rather than a show/anime music(like it felt a little to heavily poured on in some less intense parts than it should have been). I really liked the opening and endings, the songs were great and both changed multiple times throughout the series which was cool/nice. If your looking for something with action, cool characters(in both design & personalities), decent story and something that will wrack at your brain for literally hours then this is definitely something you want to check out!
4/5 Why? Basically my only complaint is the story seems typical by first glance, but it is still very good at doing what it set out to do. & The music seems a little to intense for some parts of the show when its not necessary(not a big deal though, it doesn't effect enjoyment at all just my opinion). The character designs are some of the coolest from any show I've ever seen, "Fremy" in particular is one of my all time favorites from any show I've seen at this point in time. If you want something thats gonna have you doubting yourself and thinking for hours after you finished the episode this is something you have got to check out and give a chance for it to get to that point, don't give up on it cause its "to slow feeling" in the beginning.

I watched the first two episodes. According to the one other reviewer on IMDb at the time of me writing this, it gets good after episode 5. Sorry, but I'm not the type of person who wants to wait that long in the hopes that something gets good. In my experience if something is going to be good, episode one is also good.
Visuals - The animation is alright. The fight choreography is pretty bad, along with some of the character designs. The overall look isn't terrible, leaning more on the generic side of things. I like how this seems to pull from cultures like the Mayans/Incas/Aztecs. Not a lot is done with this setting, but it is kind of nice.
Plot - This premise doesn't seem that interesting to be honest. There is some potential here, but it seems like its going to just keep being boring. The only real option I see from this show is the two leads (and others) melodramatically riding around on those horses for the rest of the runtime leading up to an unsatisfying fight scene as the finale.
Characters - I don't even know. There isn't a whole lot of development as far as I watched. I want to know why the princess has those ears.
