Raro el que no es raro

I really enjoyed this short film from Mexico. It had humour and a good, believable storyline.

Alex is on a mission to pull hunky Samuel. But Sam is straight. Or is he? He's got a girlfriend who flaunts her power over him by making him kiss other guys and perform other tasks she sets for him. But she's wary about Alex. We find out that Sam has a past so she's keeping a tight rein.

The final scenes are a gem. So many gay-themed films end up either in the doldrums or tragically. This one looked as though it might too but Alex turned the tables.

We'd seen little glimpses and snippets of scenes interspersed into the film that made sense at the end when they were expanded.

The dynamics of this film were sharply observed. I loved the female best friend that so many gay guys seem to have. And the capriciousness of Sam's partner was well delineated.

A definite recommend.

a simple summer story.love, jealousy and not bad dialogues, decent performances and memories about others films who transforms it in version of them. same delicacy present in many short films from the same genre.the vulnerable young man and his wise girl friend , the possessive girl and his boyfriend as toy. the true love. and the predictable end. a touching film, nothing special, just one of the stories remembering classic fairy tales. and this is the basic virtue in this case.
