A guy. an elevator. his fear. another elevator. another challenge. result - one of smart comedies describing ordinary realities like reflections of a mirror. and this does it a precise tool for discover the real/profound sustance of bad luck. so, a nice film. and little more.
Very short but quickly boring.
The story would be amusing if more dynamic.

Elevator is an idea that should have the running time of a Far Side comic. It takes far too long in it brief running time, working on the original gag of overweight capacity on a ride that is only going nine floors in the time it would take to rise to the top of the Empire State. The banal elevator music and the protagonist's tension build nicely against each other but the ride is soon overlong, the ironic set up disappointing. About a century too old. The likes of Lloyd and Keaton would have had field day with it. A drab modern day silent.
The Elevator is a fun and humorous short story about a man who becomes concerned about the maximum capacity of the elevator he and a group of others are using. But sometimes, taking another elevator isn't necessarily a better option-as he's about to find out.
The acting is mostly good, though one woman in the second elevator has a hard time holding back laughter. It's not a dealbreaker, but it does reinforce the idea that this short comedy film was clearly meant as a joke-especially when you consider the serious issues it playfully references.
I remember when the topic revealed in the second elevator was a real concern-back then, it was genuinely scary and something to be taken seriously. I suppose humor like this was exactly what many people craved at the time.
