Overall the premise was good...it's just the execution that needed some adjustments...partly in the script, partly with the acting, and partly with the direction.
Too many times it felt like certain people had just gotten the script and didn't know what to do with it. And that's maybe where the script could have helped instead of having someone say all those little words that would normally be a throw-away when stammering so the other comes in over them (i.e. Like in the diner scene). I still think there could have been a little more depth into the origin of the Fairy conflict to help the audience have a better understanding of the relationship between the fairies and the humans.
I think more seasoned players could have figured out a way around the tougher spots and that's where direction comes in to help so certain actors don't look so posed and act like they're afraid to move.
As for the Fairy special effects, I actually thought they were dead on. Nothing flashy or big...just simple lights. I actually have to tip my hat to whoever did the special effects because they were seamless and, dare I say, almost believable.
In spite of some of it's flaws, I still enjoyed it and know kids will as well...especially the fairies, their wooded village, and their size as they interact with humans.

This film has a beautiful story line of love, friendship and magic! I would personally recommend the film for ages of about 14 upwards because it isn't really an animated movie or children's film. This is because it contains a fair amount of scenes which younger children may not understand fully. An example might be a scene about business/finance.
I wouldn't say if you just 'love fairies' to watch the film. However, I would say if you like drama, a little romance and a little fantasy/magic then this is a good film for you.
I loved the different personalities and outfits of each fairy! The story has a nice twist at the end too, however I won't spoil it. You will have to watch it to find out. Mostly its believable and even if some of it isn't, it is supposed to be a fairy tale! You might just find yourself believing in fairies after watching this if you don't already!
That's why I enjoyed the film, the story not to far fetched to be believable!
I hope you can enjoy watching this as I did!

I would love to express how truly dreadful this film is in words, but words fail me! We wondered if it might have been intended to be a spoof, but then it lacks any humour.
Even my 8 year old daughter who loves anything to do with fairies or princesses lost interest after 15 minutes and started playing a game instead.
Acting - dire. (And we were absolutely gobsmacked to find Simon Callow making an appearance. No wonder he didn't want to be credited). Only the horse was believable!
Story line - primary school children have written better plots with more well developed characters.
Everything - absolutely everything about this film sucks: the cinematography, the special effects, the music, the acting, the casting.
You can see from my review history that I really hate leaving negative reviews. But if I can spare any other parents or children the ordeal of having to watch even 2 minutes of this then I feel it is my duty.

Its as if a high schools thespian club won some contest to produce a movie with semi professional equipment.
Apparently I have to write more about it to reach 150 characters to post this review.
