The college students Laurie (Laura Flannery), her best friend Faith (Ashton Leigh), her boyfriend Mick (Jamie Nocher) and their friend Joey (Anthony Del Negro) head to California on vacation. They take the exit 14 out of the interstate and soon they realize that they are lost. The stop at the gas station and convenience store owned by the gentle Roy (Tom Sizemore) that gives the right direction to the group. However the car has a problem and stops, and they call Roy to tow the car to his mechanical shop. Roy offers his house for the group to spend the night and soon they realize that the exit 14 does not exist.
The lame "Exit 14" is one of the worst movies ever made. The senseless story has a terrible screenplay and begins disclosing awful characters: Joey is annoying, silly and inopportune; Faith is promiscuous and stupid; Mick and Dad are uninteresting and Laurie and Roy are the only reasonable characters with potential, but are not developed. The cinematography, camera and lighting are amateurish. "Exit 14" is a forgettable film and a waste of time. My vote is two.

I honestly like John Schneider but he definitely needs help when it comes to making a horror movie. I sincerely tried to give this movie the benefit of a doubt but it only took time I will never get back. Not only was the audio terrible but the acting was worse. If you're a sap for bad movies, this one is up there with Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! John, honestly, a wineo could write a better script! Don't be fooled by the high reviews cause this one sucks!
This is the first IMDb review I ever written and this movie was so bad it compelled me to warn people to not be fooled into watching this. The acting isn't the worst I have seen, they actually improve during the second act, as if they had acting lessons during the filming but the script and plot are some of the worst. It's like a movie that is self aware of how terrible it is yet still too proud to make fun of itself. If you do plan on seeing this, get ready to spend the first 45 minutes of this "horror" movie without so much as a jump scare, following the most obnoxious stereotypical douche-bag college kids do nothing but make you wish they would die sooner and even when they do, it doesn't feel satisfying. You know a horror movie is bad when they cant even make the death of these cartoonesque morons enjoyable. The only justifiable reason to see this movie is to have something to rant about and you will want to get this off your chest pretty quick like I have.
Nothing special here, two teen boy/girl couples have the car break down and they
turn off and go to a convenience store. Creepy owner Tom Sizemore invites them
to spend the night. As you've seen a gazillion of these before you know what's
going to happen.
Sizemore and John Schneider as one of the fathers are the names you know in the cast. Schneider looking very embarrassed and Sizemore hams it up. It's what you do, ham when you're in a turkey.
Nothing new here, skip this one by.

I can't even begin to describe the sheer agony of sitting through "Exit 14." It's a horror movie in name only, as it fails miserably in delivering any semblance of a coherent story or genuine scares. This film is the perfect example of how not to make a horror movie.
The plot, if you can call it that, is an incoherent mess of random events strung together with no rhyme or reason. It's as if the script was written by a group of preschoolers playing with a ouija board.
As for the scares, well, there are none. The so-called "horror" in this movie consists of cheap jump scares that are so predictable you'll see them coming a mile away. There's no tension, no suspense, and certainly no originality. It's as if the filmmakers took a checklist of horror clichés and ticked them off one by one.
To make matters worse, the cinematography is amateurish at best, with shaky camera work and poor lighting that make it difficult to even see what's happening on screen. The special effects are laughably bad, with CGI that looks like it was created on a budget of five dollars.
In conclusion, "Exit 14" is a trainwreck of a horror movie that should be avoided at all costs. It's a prime example of lazy filmmaking, with no story, no scares, and no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Save your time and your sanity and steer clear of this cinematic abomination.
