Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is on its way to becoming the best dark shonen manga in the community, on par with the likes of Chainsaw Man, Dororo, and Jujutsu Kaisen. However, it’s undeniably the most unique of the lot, thanks to this one part of the lore that Yuji Kaku was a genius for.

The series follows Gabimaru the Hollow who gets the death penalty after a failed assassination attempt. His only chance at a pardon is to find the elixir of life in Shinsenkyo or Kotaku, its real name, which is a mythical land that toes the boundary between hell and heaven.

The island gets even more mysterious with its strange creatures. Moreover, the sole survivor returned from Kotaku with flowers sprouting all over him, losing all of his humanity in some sort of metamorphosis.

While no recent series can compare to Demon Slayer's level of success and influence in terms of impact on the industry, this doesnt mean that viewers cant find compelling animes to watch after finishing Ufotables adaptation. Fortunately, there are several animes that not only share similar thematics with Demon Slayer but are also equally enjoyable, allowing viewers to pleasingly watch while waiting for the premiere of the anticipated Infinite Castle trilogy film.

Just like Demon Slayer's author has revealed that the story was inspired by iconic series like Bleach, Naruto, and JoJo, and fans can easily track their similarities, some animes share many elements with Koyoharu Gotouges story. Either because of the characters setting, worldbuilding, or having a katana-wielding protagonist fighting some monster creature, these animes are a must-watch for every fan of Demon Slayer.

Hell's Paradise is one of the best anime of 2023. It features a group of criminals attempting to retrieve the Elixir of Life from a monstrous but supposedly heavenly island. The show portrays several action sequences filled with gore that aren't suited for the faint of heart.

Hell's Paradise has a set of incredibly strong characters, which makes the fighting scenes truly thrilling for the audience. From tearing limbs apart to decapitation to brutal punching and stabbing, everything is fair game in Hell's Paradise. Much like the series' protagonist Gabimaru, nearly the entire cast has showcased incredible strength. Though it's difficult to determine which character is the strongest, further analysis reveals specific individuals step above the rest of the pack.
