Kikala Diallo - Writer, Director, Producer (aka: Guy Who Makes Stories)
1980: Kikala Diallo and Star Wars: Episode V are introduced to the world in the same summer. Most likely, that wasn't an accident. Visual storytelling. Narrative design. Translating unbounded imagination through the real life language of human emotion. It's clear from an early age that his destiny (Vader voice included) would be wrapped up in the films that fascinated him from childhood.
1998: Kikala and independent cinema have come of age. Reservoir Dogs, Hav Plenty, The Big Lebowski. While pursuing a Film degree at University of New Orleans, Kikala discovers that screenwriting and editing are his most powerful tools. Thanks, college.
2003: Kikala and Redbox are both growing really quickly in the film game.
2007: He gets to work on projects with legends in the industry. Landing screenplay options. Editing films. Asking literally over 300 questions about "Xena" and "Hercules" while working alongside legendary director Oley Sassone. Kikala is on set a lot and loves it. (He also finds out that Christopher Lloyd and Roger Coreman are really friendly folks.)
2011: True Lies almost had a sequel made this year. Kikala had nothing to do with that, but man that would have been cool. What did happen is Kikala seriously almost got to write Kevin Hart's breakout role as a movie star. Neither project panned out. "Sick Day" is still a really good script, though.
Today: Kikala is ready for mainstream success in the same decade that Black creative visionary filmmakers are finally invited to genuinely experience full partnership in the film industry. His timing has always been good that way.
So far, his work has brought talent like Tom Sizemore and Shari Headley (aka: the best part of "Coming to America") to Walmart and Redbox rental kiosks across the nation. As a partner in Step Kids Productions, through distribution partnership with Allegro, the future is bright. Since the internet is the source of all life in the universe, Kikala has started on the path to digital marketing mastery with a vision to bring emerging talent and social movements to the global stage. From the 'hood, through the African continent, to the wider international community.
There are many stories to tell. Kikala is excited to bring them to you. To be continued...
